Your trim pieces and steering wheel are probably only a handful of people who own this car seem to get right, I know it's popular in this chassis to ditch the four spoke steering wheel for something newer in the Lexus line up, it bothers me when people pick the wrong wood grain style wheel for their interior, but in your case everything matches and matches well, I like how there isn't random red stitched boy racer interior. Your car is so perfect it's an actual debate if going with the metal interior door handles would be an improvement because your glossy carbon trim pieces look good with the black plastic handles anyways. The fact you sent the car out to get the cluster rebuilt is just icing on the cake. Very nice example, me and my automatic SC400 are very jealous as far as manual powertrain goes lol.

Hey man I own a JZX90 Tourer V. What’s your experience with your exhaust? Does it drone a lot? I have a Takumi Reinhard Circuit type so 3” straight pipe into a muffler really. It droned like absolute hell so I added a resonator in the mid pipe. Now it’s way better but still has some drony frequencies at around 2000rpm… my car being an AT car, this is the cruising rpm… Car sounds absolutely amazing though. Do you have any experience with drone in your exhaust? Is there a resonator in your Blitz?
@toyotafather Жыл бұрын
Drone isn’t bad however the sound deadening is better in JZZ30 so maybe that’s why. There is a small resonator before the muffler about the size of a soda can
@toyotafather Жыл бұрын
You know I thought about it and jz is the bassiest sounding at 2000rpm. That may be why as well
@hanojekcim Жыл бұрын
@@toyotafather yep it produces extremely resonant frequencies at around 2000rpm. There is the possibility to install what’s called a Helmholtz resonator or something, basically just some additional piping to cancel out those frequencies. You can go crazy with math and more or less exactly calculate the size of it and it’s almost guaranteed that it will cancel those frequencies. I might go that route, as my car is not “too loud”, it sounds fantastic. It’s just those bass frequencies entering the cabin at certain rpm.
@MaplecookАй бұрын
People can disagree with me all they want, but your interior is superior to that of the A80 Supra's. That one has way too much tacky plastic in it. In my, "Soarer," I've chosen to keep the wood and leather treatment, and transplanted in the steering wheel from a 2003 Lexus RX300 which makes the entire cabin feel MUCH more upscale. I would even go so far as to assert that the Soarer's interior is a better match for that wheel, than the original vehicle from which it came. haha
@toyotafatherАй бұрын
@@Maplecook I agree, and great choice! That wheel swap is like a thong vs granny panties
@MaplecookАй бұрын
@@toyotafather Plus, my original steering wheel is GRO----------SS, man. I dunno...I think the previous owner had extremely sweaty hands or something. I needed to change it out. I lucked out with that pretty hard, too. Steering wheels like mine -- complete with the airbag -- are all but impossible to find now, and they cars magnitudes more than what I paid, even if you CAN find one for sale. It also required some cutting and soldering to make it fit. I'll upload a photo of my interior one of these days. You know, when I first read your comment about the wheel upgrade, I thought you were talking about my SSRs. haha
