Pisser looking car ! I have the same identical car (2004) with black cloth interior factory sunroof and a 3.3L V6 but it's all factory. It has the slap shifter which helps make it a bit quicker and although I'd like to get a little bit more out of it I'm not sure what I could do to do so. I like the tint job on the windows but here in mASSachusetts they won't let you go that dark to my knowledge. I believe 35% is the darkest on the side windows you can go but I've truly never looked into it. Is the dual exhaust set-up a true dual or just a one into two system for looks? This is my first foreign automobile and I'll probably never go back to a domestic vehicle. Definitely a sharp looking car!

Hey bud. I mean intake and exhaust isn't really gonna do anything for performance. It possible you'll get a few hp but that's about it. 4cly engines don't really benefit all that much from intakes and exhausts. The only way to really get a HP increase is to either , supercharge, turbocharge or add nitrous. As far as the dual exhaust this system was just a y pipe split Into two muffler for a balanced look. To date, I removed both muffled and just have open tailpipes with. I mufflers. I did retain the factory cat, resonators and piping. Basically from the resonators back is new custom pipe , a Y splitter and two z28 tips out the back. It made the car just a tad louder than the two aftermarket mufflers that were previously on. True duals is not something you'll typically see on a single head engine. In addition there is absolutely no point other than asthetics .

Totally disagree. First generation looks boring and cheap. Second generation looks way more sophisticated and luxury. I cant stand the first generation solara. Guy tried to talk me into one when I got my 6th generation accord coupe. My buddy had one too, this car gets thousands of compliments. Love it! The first generation looks very dated and cheap. I feel the same about the corolas. Just a cheap high schoolers ride. Thats why you never see any first gen solaras other then a junk yard. No thanks, but hey to each their own. Like what you like!

I disagree. The first generation looks like a high school kids 2000 dollar special from mom and dad. The second generation looks like it could be a 2022 model. Ifs funny I have had thousands of views on this car and dozens of compliments.. People stop me on the street and say what is that its clean and beautiful. My buddy had the first gen and nobody ever said anything. You make zero sense on the headlight argument. Every car for the last 20 years has molded in headlights that follow the body contours. Usually when car manufacturers change a body style, they make small changes. This is one of those cars toyota said , " man we need to redesign this bud ugly vehicle"

Beautiful car. Have you ever experienced a leak when it rains? My 04 solara not convertible leaks when it rains. It comes through the back side windows and trunk. Crazy because no water comes in when I run it through the wash and it seems only with heavy rain that it leaks bad. We’ve even stood for half hour with the water hose running over it and see no water it’s driving me crazy.

Nice car. How's the interior doing? Mine have a dash that's cracking and the center plastic panel with the triple gauge is starting to crack. The plastic has chipped. The interior of these cars kinda suck, I must admit. But the engine and transmission are solid. Absolutely bulletproof. I have a 2005 4 cylinder and it's a fantastic car. The most reliable car I've ever owned. Period. My wife has a Lexus RX and I have a Rav4 and those I've had to fix something. For my Solara... NOTHING fixed under the hood. Since 2005 I've only done oil changes, battery and coolant changes. That's it 140k miles later. The clearcoat is peeling on my car. It's going to cost me more than what the car is worth to repaint it. I have 18" Privat Gassen wheels with mine with 245/40 18" rubber with Goodyear F1s. Handles great, I don't race it. 4 cylinder automatic is dog slow. But a great car. I was a member of Solaraguy message boards. Were you? I think that site is pretty much dead now since everyone moved on to other cars. As for myself I'm holding on to my Solara until the wheels fall off. I told my wife I see myself growing old with this car like Clint Eastwood in Gran Torino. lol Enjoy your car :)

Mine did not have a spoiler so no holes. I do not think the spoilers were drilled in , I think they attached with 3m tape but I could be wrong

Don't bother with headers. The catalytic converter is almost inside the engine bay. You worn find a header for this but I've heard scion header fits. I do not have spacers.

It's custom fabricated pipe all the way from the factory resonator back. Since this video, I have changed the system . Still new fabricated pipes from the factory resonator back but now just to two z28 exhaust tips. No more rear mufflers. Just a bit louder and now less to rust out.

Nope you can just get an intake if that's all you want.

Being a 4cyl is the only major negative.. they make this in a 6 cylinder in the 2008.

Not really. The 4 cyl is a much better engine for longevity. The stock difference in power is only 68 hp. KN dyno intake results got a massive 14hp increase, figure my non restrictive exhaust adds about 2 hp ( extremely realistic number) its only a 52 HP difference. Not really that noticeable, in time ill throw a 75 shot nos kit on it or a small turbo. A toyata AZ motor such as this is very reliable and can handle HP increases up to 300. Not one single negative about a 4cly dude.

yeah man i like the Solara I just gotten a 2007 about 6 months ago and at the moment I have wide purple rims upgraded the alternator too a 200 amp alternator and did the big four upgrade I also added a Borla exhaust with a purple and blue tip but I am gonna switch the rims to other rims I have with snow tires cuz winter is here I also have 2 more pair of wheels I haven't tried them on yet maybe this summer coming I will be and I also have fender flares I have to add on but will see this summer and my system lol I cant even say I have lots of sub's ima try out this summer in my solara and range rover I gotten 2 x10' sundown audio,2 12' skar audio,15' skar audio,12' orion,18' zv4 sundown audio monster subs can't wait big upgrades coming soon thx for the vid keep it up and keep posting
