Thank you for this! My truck had the check engine light one plus ABS light on. My stero and navigation would not come on. Bought a replacement on Amazon for 76.00 and took me 20 mins. The filter was gone and it had water in it. I saw results immediately. Good video keep it up!

Thank you. Looks like you could feel the air getting sucked in to let you know it's working too. I had the p2445, code some time ago, but mechanic cleaned the throttle body and no more issues. Popped up again a year later seeing the air switching valve to the pump can get dirty and the valve can get stuck so thought I'd change it for good measure, (I had already cleared the code and didn't come back but having a little rough idle) So bought the part $200 and got a quote to install it and PVC valve (good measure) $180, but won't warranty the switch valve if I don't reolsce the pump $500, saying they break apart and throw garbage into the switching valve. First of all odd there is no filter since blowing air through the system. Second, if there is a history or breaking apart, why not a recall? Third, dealership said their new diagnostic system won't even support the older vehicles. I love my little Taco, wish it was easier working with these service advisor salesmen. I'll go start up my car and see if I can feel the air getting sucked into the pump.

I have the Same issue my car has the same engine in a different car if u know toyota prado 120 2008 model has the code P0418 and low idle around 600 rpm the fix is same or should have a professional look. Something i noticed is usually when there was no check engine light the car would make the same noise when u start it up when u did after replacing the air injection pump at 7:03 and after the light came on that noise on the startup is missing so if i just replace the pump will that be fine ?

HELP!!! I also have same Taco '06 2.7L with amber Check engine light (P2433 code) Read out indicates the PCM detected an unexpected high voltage on the secondary air injection system pressure sensor circuit. I checked all the fuses...all ok. The trucks run great but since I live in NY.....still do emission testing here and I'm past the due date. I hate to go to a dealer to have them look at it. If I knew what to do, change the air pump...the Pressure sensor etc, I could get the part myself and change out the parts. Any advice, suggestions, anything to steer me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. BTW, the truck only has 40,000 miles on it..... not looking to get rid of it any time soon, but hate to pay a jillion bucks to fix the truck. Amen!

Thanks so much for this video! was this issue causing your truck to idle way down on startup and stops? That seems to be the issue I'm having along with all of those check engine codes. Thanks in advance for your response.

This truck did not have those idle issues when it came into the shop. Pump is toyota oem, was about $720 if I remember. But the idle issue may be caused by the diverter valve, that's very commonly bad also. Test your pump as I showed and at least you could rule that out if it does work, then go for the valve. But possible both are bad.

But did you test the pump prior to replacing it and also confirm the power and ground is present at the pump connector? The air valve can also cause codes.

Sometimes the foam inside will get caught in the impeller of the blower. I have taken them apart and found that was the problem a couple times

What is the pump actually called ? Mine is p2441 secondary air injection system switching valve stuck closed. Is this pump what I need to order for this issue ? Also a p2445 pump stuck off Thank you !

Pump is called the air injection pump. You need to test your pump to see if it functions as i described in the vid. If it does function, then your switching valve is likely the problem which should be located at the engine block.

Adds air to the exhaust to dilute it for emission purposes. More or less.
