How is the resolution and phone compared to CARABC? I returned the CARABC because of terrible resolution and phone echoing.

We haven’t had the chance to compare our resolution to theirs. But our phone does not have echoing as all the audio including phone calls are pushed to the car Bluetooth. Ours also don’t have issues with backup camera delay or not working well

Does the voice control button on the steering wheel call Google assistant/Siri? Can the unit auto start in Android auto or do you always have to switch it?

Voice control button on the steering wheel is locked to Toyota voice assistant. Instead you can long press the phone call button to summon Siri/google assistant. Unit won’t autostart. You will have to switch it by long pressing the hang up button

You can buy a Carplay adapter for $300 or even cheaper but, they lack the wireless feature, sound quality is bad and they are not reliable. That is why I bought this kit. The sound is no different with this kit and of course it has the wireless feature. Your other option is to buy a new head unit. This is going to be just more expensive than this adapter.
