Wanted to THANK YOU for posting this how-to repair... just completed the fix and your steps worked perfectly. Same as others, I was getting flaky to no AUX input which was very frustrating. I would add that inside the jack port there are contacts and they "expand" so a dental pick can be used adjust the internals for better contact. Have also tried several input cords and some are slightly thicker and provide consistent internal contact. Excellent video :)

Dude, I've only ever soldered one thing in my entire life. This was so quick and easy. I figured if I screwed it up, oh well, it wasn't working anyway. However, I didn't screw it up. Much to my surprise I fixed it! Thanks for the video and step by step instructions.

Duuuude thank you! I was so bummed that my port was going out, and didn't want to spend the $80 for a new one. And your video helped me fix mine good as new! Wish I had found it sooner before making a 16 hour round trip drive :(

Is the jack just loose? Mine is doing the same where I have to lift up a little on the cord so that there is sound in both speakers coming out.

I just bought an 08, and i haven't gone poking around in it too much yet. My question is are the blank spaces beside the aux jack come out individually or is it one solid piece?
