Often useful using sat-nav verbal output to help out, but note the usual on-screen get out clause when you switch it on! One of the weirdest ones I came across some years ago with a Honda product was that the graphics on display were OK, but the verbal output was wrong; it would have been right with right hand drive - the product having been manufactured elsewhere in Europe, but it said something like “take the third exit….”, NOT the fourth exit over here! No doubt there are plenty of similar bugs, especially when they are translated/swapped over etc. Some road layouts have difficulty being dealt with verbally as well, especially when road traffic signs don’t match up well. Map update timing compared with road alterations is another gripe.

Using google maps or Waze thee maps are bang up to date and the updates are on your phone not the car I’ve not come across any indiscriminate wrong commands yet Using the Apple car play system is very versatile and works faultlessly

@@paul_nwsxs They might be a bit better than those that are only issued twice a year (like the Toyota ones), but even Google maps are often out of date for a while with some road layout alterations.

Apparently Waze is less Data hungry than Google maps. I say that as someone who doesn't have unlimited data.

My Android Auto still uses voice instruction even when offline. Maybe an issue with Apple?
