If you’re in the market for a light-sized hatchback, your options are fewer and more expensive than they’ve probably ever been, but there are still some solid options if you prefer a traditional compact car over an SUV.
Among the best of them is the relatively new 2022 Toyota Yaris SX Hybrid, which sits near the top of the pint-size Japanese hatch range and brings bold design, bright paint colours and super-frugal efficiency.
On the other hand, there’s the facelifted 2022 Volkswagen Polo Life, which is the entry-level version of the German brand’s city-hatch and takes a more understated approach for almost $1000 less.

Save yourself over 6 grand and get a Rio sport auto that saving is about 3000 litres of fuel and you are getting a better warranty

Both Yaris and Polo Life have obsolete drum brakes than sport hatchback with 4 wheel disc brakes.

Drum brakes on the rear only are not obsolete they work very well.I like the sound of discs better and would take them as an option though if not too much more.
