Toyota yaris. My right front brake sensor is not working. Since then while braking and slowing down I hear a weird sound like a pump. Is it because the sensor is not working making the abs pump do more for the left side ?

Hi. Do u have any permanent warning lights on the dashboard.

It could be the abs sensor or the abs sensor ring which is either on the hub or drive shaft.

@@diykhan just the 'abs' light that's showing on my dashboard. I brought my car to scan it and it gave me 2 errors. 1 is the right front wheel brake sensor and the 2nd is my brake switch. I'll be back next week so I'll take that car to a shop to get that sensor fixed. I just hope it's just that what causes me the weird pump noise while braking. As soon as I hit the brake with slow speed it does make that sound. The sound is familiar to a pump noise, as it's failing to pump enough brake fluid or something. My brake fluid tank is filled to the right amount. Brakes are working fine. It's just that weird pump noise since the abs light popped on.. Just wanted to know if one of the brake sensors fails if it causes wrong data to the abs to cause it to do more to the left side or so..

@@7thWolf I m still convinced that its the abs sensor ring which is causing that issue. They get extremely rusty so it becomes really hard for the sensor to detect the abs ring teeth. In some cases they have a split in them so the gears gaps are not even. Good luck 👍
