I am totally amazed at my 2.5 Dynamic Force engine in my 2020 Camry LE (8,350 total miles) I recently took a 445 mile trip that put my car through just about all the scenarios a car could face including, freeway, hills, mountains, long gradual inclines, long gradual declines, 78 miles of winding uphill, downhill, sharp turns, not so sharp turns, manually downshifting, manually upshifting, and driving around a small coastal California town of Fort Bragg for two days. After I came back home I filled up the tank to check for the first time my gas milage turned out to be...an amazing "35.8 miles per gallon." I had to redo the numbers on my calculator to double check...445 miles divided by 12.4 gallons of gas. I am totally amazed! And all these miles were not "easy interstate miles"...only about 125, or so. My car performed better than I anticipated and this engine...totally amazed me! The car is rated for 39 MPG (freeway) on the window sticker. It looks like it would do even better! Totally amazing!

I agree . I have a 2018 model and I use the manual shift option almost daily . When going down a long stretch I downshift to control speed. Also around town for one pedal driving. To keep RPM high to merge on highway . The engine and eight speed transmission are a very good match . Just change your oil every 5K and filter 10K .

@JossRickard3 жыл бұрын
It depends on load and temperature. The car operates differently, normally with port and direct injection, but some instances have only port, or direct injection. Direct injection with Toyota D4-S is largely used to cool the combustion charge and make it more dense; thus allowing more fuel to be added by the port injectors and control combustion temperature directly. Toyota D4-S isn't as focused on maximum power output as other brands; more smoothness, reliability, tractability and fuel economy/emissions.

Not to mention fast charging has a ways to go as few people willing to wait 40+ mins for 80% charge. And as always electric network has long ways to go. @toyotabrony4 жыл бұрын
It is. Because when they improve more to find away to gain more efficient engine, than this is how they do it by recreating the engine. Honestly it is better than electric. Because with combustion engines last much longer than electric. Sure it’s extremely efficient from electric vehicles but there very complex and very expensive to repair. They can breaks down easily after time to time. The world isn’t ready for electric vehicles.
@brandons91384 жыл бұрын
@@toyotabrony Almost everything you said is wrong. Internal combustion engines are no where near as efficient as an electric motor. Electric motors can achieve efficiencies of greater than 90%. Typical ICE motors are around 30-40%. That gap is going to be VERY hard to close given that most of the energy from combustion is wasted in the form of heat. Electric motors are WAY more durable and have longer service lives vs a combustion engine. The cost of repairing a Tesla may be high, but the the relative simplicity of the car means more reliability. Electric car motors have FAR fewer moving parts that a comparable ICE based cars. The typical ICE valve train has more parts in it than both of the electric motors in a Tesla combined. Tesla cars have no need for a transmission cutting several hundred moving parts out of the equation.
@James-il3tq3 жыл бұрын
@@brandons9138 What you're not taking into account is the efficiency of the energy electrics use from the grid which are far below 90% efficient and also mostly powered by oil still. So electrical powered by cars still have long way to go before being truly more efficient then gas Autos, especially with increased energy c02 involved in manufacturing an EV. Engineering Explained the channel has good video on this.
