It took me almost an hour to get him into car mode. I was afraid of it breaking. Getting the arms to lock in to the tabs was frustrating.

Welp. Just opened my copy after having it stored in my basement since it came out.. My copy not only has a messed up knee joint mold(can't bend in for the car mode now), but ALSO a crapily molded ankle on the same leg that broke literally right when I took it out of the box. Love your reviews but this toy kills me💀

TMan, I JUST pulled this figure out of storage and found your review here! HAHA yeah this toy was SOOOO DIFFICULT, that once I got it into perfect car mode, it went to storage for years because I was afraid to touch it again, haha! You did a FANTASTIC job transforming him on camera! You gave me the courage to try transforming him again...but I can TOTALLY RELATE to you getting started with the transformation, HAHA! Hmm...maybe I'll just admire the car mode for a while longer before transforming to robot mode, haha!

MP09 was pretty crappy. On the flip side, I would kill to have the Takara only MP09B (Black Rodimus Convoy) - that thing looks amazing. But, I guess I'll settle for the upcoming Power of the Primes versions of them...even if the PotP "Rodimus Unicronus" is more Shattered Glass Hot Rod than Black Rodimus Prime (SG Hot Rod: black & purple w/red, Black Rodimus Convoy: black & teal w/gray). And being Leader class means that version of Rodimus Prime ain't gonna scale with anything other than PotP Optimus, TR Soundwave, and CW Megatron & the Seekers.

TMan978 True. But Rodimus Prime isn't supposed to be much bigger than Springer (if anything, he's just slightly shorter), and he certainly shouldn't be the same height as Ultra Magnus (as Magnus is a big bastard). Which makes me wonder how MP09 scales in relation to MP22...

+John Evans actually, the best way to show you the size difference without taking a picture, which I am willing to do, is the fact that Rodimus Prime is the same height is MP 10.

Great review, the skit was actually pretty hilarious. Compared to a few other reviews I've seen, you did the transformation really well. I'd had the 'honor' of owning this figure at one point. It frustrated the hell out me and I sold it. No regrets. I skipped the new version for Fans Toys' future release. And, if for some reason it never comes out, I'm sure MP-28 will be KO'd by then.
