I have been a big fan of the King Sphinx since I was a kid, unfortunately, growing up I never was able to get my hands on the original toy. So when the time came that the lightning collection made one, I was very excited, only to discover the lack of paint on that figure, and the wings were just consistently falling off. Then when I saw the prototype of the super seven model, I thought this was definitely going to be the figure. I had always hope for. Unfortunately, when I got him. I ended up having to send them out to be replaced because the gripping hands were so tight. It literally scratched up his staff and the pant on it, my biggest problem was when I pulled out the left hand to replace it for the staff hand. It was broken. Luckily they were nice enough to send me another one I was hesitant to open because I was afraid of it happening again, and I’m sad to say right for the hand as soon as I took out the fist to replace it with staff was unable to go back in, and now just sticks on to the arm, unable to handle the weight of the staff. it really hurt to see this happen because I honestly wish that it didn’t have to happen a second time now I have a broken toy, and a broken dream 😞

The best argument for the MMPR figs is the comparison at the end. I have the green ranger and even though there are things about it that I don't like, I also keep finding my eye drawn to it. When you lined up the figures I said, "oh, yeah, super 7 just looks the most like a suit actor" I feel like the line in general is pretty good, but the price point just causes people (fairly) to really pick apart the flaws. At the end of the day, I think I'll be much happier with this figure than ANOTHER lightning collection figure that still doesn't have consistent paint/lacks hand options.

I was literally about to ask you if you had seen the retro VHS line! :) I agree 100% on those. I do hope they start adding some villains to that line. I kinda wish they were a little smaller. As they are they're basically the same size as the Lighting Collection and I'd rather they be more classic smaller 4-5 inch action figure size. Yeah, I know the originals were bigger, but still. Have you looked at any of the Remastered Lightning Collection figures? Curious to see if those fixed the issues the original offerings had.

Really good, fair, review. I'm in agreement that King Sphinx turned out pretty well. Some issues here and there, but I like that boxy look of the torso which matches up pretty well with the suit from the show. I'm much less enthused by the Red Ranger. I did get the Green Ranger from Wave 1 and I think the Dragon Shield really helps to break up the very, plasticky, look of the figure. The shade of green also works better than the red here. I just don't understand the thought process with that ab crunch though. To me, it's a huge eyesore and it's coming from a company that views double-jointed knees and elbows as something that's too ugly to appear on their figures which doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

I don't hate the Super7 Kings Sphinx. There was certainly an attention to detail, more so than the Hasbro version. If I had to keep just one it would probably be the Super7 one. However, the head just isn't sculpted right compared to the suit. The Bandai toy from 93 is actually far more accurate in the sculpt. The wings on Super7 are interesting as well. Depending on the reference the wings are either colorful or all gray with just the white dots. Seems the suit went through some repaints during filming if the sentai episode and possibly even after for promo pics. Hasbro used this as an excuse not to add a lot of paint while Super7 used this as an excuse to add all the paint they could. Meanwhile, the actual suit had wings that were basically a sheet of vynl with a print. I'm glad Super7 went all out since Hasbro already did basic gray, but I wish Super7 did 2 sets of wings. One with all the colors and one with the basic gray with white dots.

I got the Yellow Ranger and she also couldn't hold any of her weapons, same with Rita. I am now only buying the two versions of the Dragonzord and that's it. Super 7 just isn't worth the money anymore and they seem to just be getting worse. I really wanted the cartoon Joes, but they also have lots of issues. Not sure how much longer Super 7 can keep this up and still stay around honestly. Oh yeah, and all the wrists are super loose on the Yellow Ranger too. Just a complete mess for the price.

I assure you they dont care abiut the joints being loose, long as they are being bought. Sculpts are there for the human heads, but the paint is crap. So you lose that. And mmpr red torso should of not had articulation, especially when s7 elbows etc are already limited. Why ad the torso? Just makes it look like a robot. King sphinx on mines is loose. Like loose loose

I’ve just started watching the Zyuranger show and it’s pretty wild. It has some more serious tones than MMPR, but it’s so bizarre, it’s hard to really take it in that way. Thanks for watching.

Some bootleg figures has better quality and paintjob than this. We need better articulation and paintjob! Still waiting for other company to do a better 7" scale MMPR because this Super7 is totally not worth the price

From what I have gotten, the monsters and zords from Super7 seem worth it. The paint and sculpt are great, as is the size. Rita is also really well done. Certainly better than the first Rita Hasbro did, and possibly better than the new deluxe one. The Putties are on the bad ranger body, but make for a great army builder with all the variations you can make. Literally, the worst figures in the Power rangers line are the power rangers. They got the accessories right, but the sculpts and articulation are just bad. Since the monsters in the LC are just as big as the Super7 stuff, I say get the monsters from Super7 and the rangers from Hasbro.
