That’s a good question. I think it may have to do with the fact that they recede back and that feature may cause chipping on the paint. It could also be bc the teeth wouldn’t match the other teeth when the face plate it off....of course that would be a dumb reason.

Looks amazing. But don't get me wrong, as much as this figure looks amazing, especially in the planet mode, I feel like it doesn't hold a candle to the 01 Studio Cell figure, proportion and kibble-wise. Although this figures colors look on point to the G1 Unicron, and the planet mode looks a lot better on this figure.

Oh, good. A decent unboxing. Tried watching another that was some weird attempt at ASRM. Had to stop about five minutes in because he kept constantly rubbing and fondling the damn thing. I was honestly waiting for him to start licking and humping it because it was getting so weird... I find it humorous they give you a little Autobot starship and two figures since the "mouth" in planet mode was able to eat whole (small) planets. They should have given away the planet that he ate in the movie :P Now they need to release some kind of "Selects" version of the original prototype from the 80's.

Extremely impressive piece! I have a few minor critiques, but nothing really worth mentioning. If someone wants a showstopper, this is it. The size, appearance, color, and kibble all work really nicely together. I like this design way better than any other Unicron out there, and plus, while I know it isn't to scale, (it could never be), I'd think you'd want something bigger than all your other pieces if getting Unicron.

There is a reason people are paying $1,000 more for Haslab on average. I don't see how anyone could ever say studio cell comes close to being as good as haslab, let alone "way better", but to each their own I guess! Everyone that has the haslab that I know loves it.

@German 6789 all perspective, for sure - I'm in the camp with many others that prefer stylization over screen accuracy, as long as it is is an enhancement, which I believe haslab has done. Studio Cell is "cleaner"/plainer, but I prefer the intricacies and detail to the Haslab by a longshot. As for being a lazy design/engineering, that just isn't true. It was likely built the way it was built for ease of transformation. Talk to anyone who has transformed Haslab vs. Studio Cell - Haslab is MUCH easier, whereas Studio Cell is so challenging, that, many people don't want to mess with it after one time. Perhaps the challenge is what some like in transformations - not for me, though...I don't want to pull my hair out while transforming! Last but not least, the "shell forming", as it turns out, is a bonus. With three screws, you can take off the planet portion, and ultimately create the planet while you have him in robot mode as well. Now, keep in mind I don't have anything bad to say about Studio Cell, because they did a good job on it - but I will say there is a very justifiable reason people are paying 4-5x for the Haslab.

For me, Haslab is the definitive Unicron by a country mile...it literally isn't even close in any metric, but again, maybe I'm just not hardcore enough of a fan to know the difference. It may be likened to my immature palette - I'll go for a cheeseburger over a finely cooked steak 10/10 times :) All I know is out of all my transformers I own, I enjoy looking at the Haslab Unicron most!

Fantastic video- great focus and attention to detail. Im so pleased I bought the Zeta one as its Masterpiece quality through and through. Although its half this size its easily twice as good in terms of MP quality and overall vibe. But if you are collecting CHUG or anything other than MP, then Haslabs is definitely a huge winner. A Unicron for everyones taste!!

I think this review is great and really shows how the item looks from all angles. Very well done. As for the figure itself, it just doesn't look like Unicron to me. All the panels hanging off the legs and back, all the coloring issues, especially that maw. I also feel they did too much detailing on the face and body, with regards to all the circuitry lines, etc. Also maybe it's just me bit the proportions don't seem right. I know that it's impossible to get it perfectly accurate and correct scale, but the Studio Cell version just looks so much better in my opinion. It looks and feels like Unicron. They are both panel formers, and that's fine, but the Studio Cell version just utilizes them better and they become his body and hide away so much better. When this was first introduced back in 2019 I almost backed it, but now that ive seen it in this very detailed and thorigh review, I'm glad I didn't . I mean no disrespect to any who are getting this. I'm simply saying that fir me the Studio Cell is the winner.

Make sure your Unicron’s mouth is ok. In planet mode, it did not look as if it was able to open all the way. I think it’s suppose to open wider then that. Watch other reviews and see what you think.

I am So So glad I walked away from backing this, 1st off IT looks and Sounds Cheap as Hell, Can't Hasbro put in some Real Spring loaded rachets. 2nd the Kibble or should I say the Shell is just Rediculouse, it show lack of Engineering. 3rd For such a gigantic Bot mode there's very little to like, gimmicks and Wow factor not present. I am waiting for Lewin Resources to Upsize Cell Unicron and that will be the 1 to get. Great Unbox and Showcase though...Thank You.

Do you see anyway possible to clean his look up in robot mode?.. is it possible to remove some of the potato chip panels from his legs and back? This is the closest figure that we can compare with the Unicron in The Transformers: The Movie, yeah, you get your money's worth. But, I think the bad things are the back kibble, difficult to transform and unremarkable plastic. On the positive side, the screw holes can be covered, articulations seem great and the robot-mode could possibly be posed in various ways. It is evident that there was hardwork in making this. It is not perfect but at least they tried.

Great video very comprehensive but what I don't like is how hasbro changed the maw color, it's the front and center piece in planet mode and it does not look good with the gray It should have been all yellow. My excitement dropped when I saw that it's still an impressive piece but not what I payed for o well what can you do. Loved your video.
