Hi. The "Link/Act" text on the fifth port means Link/Activity, and not Link/Account, and it refers to the indicator led on all the ports. It's only placed on top of port5 because of lack of space above the other ports

Sorry for bumping this comment but does that mean the 5th port is totally equal to other ones unlike what's being said in the video?
3 жыл бұрын
It functions like all the others. By convention, it is the one you use for uplink. I'm not sure if this has more capacity (it is a separate module after all), and therefore better suited for uplink. The module seperation is likely just because the port modules comes in 4-port and 1-port configurations. You'll see this in any switch and router
@DlcEnergy
@DlcEnergy Жыл бұрын
Link = Solid Activity = Flashing They just so happen to put it over the last port's led. And the last port isn't joined with the rest since they're not grouped in 5's. All the ports are equal. It just appears to stand out because of these reasons.

"Link Account port" LOL. that is just the label of all the LEDs (link/activity). On a domestic unmanaged switch all ports are the same, you just create the habit to use the first or last port to use as uplink to a router, sort of mimicking what you do on an enterprise switch that usually uses the last port as uplink, some models even have a separate uplink port.

I had a problem with my Vodaphone 5g wifi, I have 1 gigabit but xbox and laptop were only getting 230 to 280 Mbps, I wired direct and got 930 to 940 Mbps across all devices. I have 4 ports on my router that are already wired to rooms and devices, but seeing this I will now be able to wire up every room in the house, and If it does drop a little , who cares? at 900 Mbps I could drop 200Mbps and still be getting more than enough, but more importantly with this little switch I will be getting to use the Internet Bandwith that I have already paid for in each room . Great video .

I'll then switch the cable from one device to another and still, only the PC is slow but the Mac and PS5 are getting all the juice, so that rules out the cables being the issue. Thanks for the helpful video. We just purchased this because our Wi-Fi connection is very slow (45mbps) through our Comcast router, which is surprisingly supposed to be 1.3gbps. When connecting directly from the router to this computer (about 75 feet on cat7) I will get around 480-500mbps, but when the router is connected through this Hub the speed is only around 200mbps and I just do not understand why? All cables are brand new cat7 and are fully capable of handling up to 10 Gbps.

The issue is that IPTV is not working while connected via the switch. To elaborate, when the set-top box is connected directly from the router, works without any problem. When I connect this switch to the router and then connect the set-top box from the switch, IPTV is not working. It has happened a few times that IPTV worked while connected via this switch, but went I turned off the tv in the evening and turned it back on in the following morning, it was not working again. Any thoughts? Thank you in advance.

Well this would still connect to your computer via either net. It plugs into your router to give you more ports, then you would attache something to this box via either net.
