Hi Ranjit , I love your reviews. I do appreciate that there someone from India who educating us for making smart purchases. Questions: 1) Please tell me if we can use this router by removing the battery and plugging it with a micro usb to computer or any other adapter. Because U said that the battery backup is not so great. 2) Does it work with universal data cards e.g.Huawei 3121,3131? 3) Will It work in hostel LAN n/w which has proxy & DNS settings to be configured. What and how exactly must I connect everything to configure it for the first time? My 3G dongle work when I connect it to the computer, but I'd like to create a WiFi (portable) with the dongle. Hi Vadivel. I was wondering because if you do a google search or youtube search for camranger. you will see that it is essentially the same router now used to send pictures straight from a connected dlsr camera to a computer or android or apple tablet. if you can check that out you would probably better understand. The one used for the camranger creates its own adhoc network/wifi thus allowing say a laptop with a built in radio to connect to the router which is attached to the computer

You don't need to switch-on the computer always to access internet. You have to use the computer once for setup process. As he explained you may need computer if you want to change the settings (WAN to 3G dongle) or the other way. Otherwise just switch-on the device & you will get a wi-fi connection.

micromax 400r (mi-fi) is a better choice for using in travel. You can directly insert 3g sim and it automatically configures the connection. Its only 3g and doesn't support broadband

Sorry you can't. This device has 2 modes(WAN, 3G dongle) of internet input & has a single output which is Wi-fi. You need wired routers with 3G dongle input which I don't have the exact details.

Buy it off eBay or Amazon , they both have this product as it is a chinese product . and yes it works even in a moving train , the key is ur dongle should be able to get signal and retain it while in transit

Yes,i did find the router its TP link MR3020,its working great without any issues,a decent wifi range,i bought it from flipkart and did some manual setting for the first time and now its just plug and play.

Hi, I have been using this device TP-Link TL-MR3040 V2 at my Home, with my ACT Fibernet broadband connection in Bangalore, and it was properly working with my Laptop(Lenovo T440) Windows 7 64 bit OS, but recently I have upgraded my laptop to Windows 8.1 64 bit, then onwards, after connecting to WiFi, from my laptop, after 5 or 10 mins., it shows authentication problem and all other mobile devices connected to the WiFi also getting the authentication problem, and none of the device will work, even after giving the WiFi password properly, I have to reset the device and reconfigure, then it will connect, but again after 5 or 10 mins. same problem. So isolate the problem, at last I have reconfigured the device using the laptop and after that I not connected to the WiFi from my laptop, but connected to WiFi from other devices, so this time, there is no problem it continuously working as earlier for hours together, but the moment I connect my laptop to WiFi after 5 or 10 mins. the same problem Authentication problem, all this is started since I upgraded my laptop to Windows 8.1. Please help me in this regard, I believe this device works with the Windows 8 OS, which what return on the carton box as well. Please help me in this regard, what could be the problem. Regards, Venkat
