Just picked up 3 of these brand new in box from a retailer today, £9 per unit! Planning on replacing my 3 Sonoff S20 with these.

I have several tplink hs100 , hs110 and sonoff. I've recently gone off sonoff after issues with it during discover or linking to router

Thanks for the video. Sonoff has equivalent plug not to POW for 1/4 of the price- at least that is best I could see in Australia and has GH, Alexa and IFTT support. I appreciate the issue it create when you have too many WIFI devices. I had to add a access point as my router start giving issues. I am planning to add few more RF plugs (I have 4 now) and use broadlink RF Pro to control them rather than adding more wifi devices for plugs. Not sure about electricity usage monitoring. I did a test with a one unit and roughly understand power needs of my devices at home and an overall usage monitor gives me total usage at a given point

Hey there, Ian Thanks for the comment. I got the HS110 when I was first getting into Home Automation and that explains the simplicity of it instead of the Sonoffs that I was using about a year later. I too use the Broadlink RM Pro but I'm trying to get away from the RF Switches as they can't have an accurate representation in Home Assistant. Purely because the switches don't have a way to tell the server/system when it has been turned on/off such as MQTT etc. That means that quite often I could be left wondering if something was switched on or not (maybe in the garage). ian robertson which rf plugs are you using?
@ianrobertson9126 жыл бұрын
I had 4 efergy units that was lying around the house for few years and I got them for US$20 all. I am using them now with Broadlink RM Pro+ and Home assistant. I did not buy any after that. Only problems with these RF plugs (at least mine) is that after power faliure it goes to pairing mode.

Hi Ian.. any idea which Sonoff model will be similar to HS110 ??

Thanks for the nice video. I am able to monitor the current consumption of the HS110 in the same network using some code but when I go out of the network being used by the HS110 I am not able. How can I read the data from the smart plug remotely
@Firespyer6 жыл бұрын
I have a few of the HS105s they work great the other benifit over the Sonof, is that these are UL certified.
@HASSCASTS6 жыл бұрын
I must admit I'm not familiar with UL certification.I've just done a quick search and it may be something that is in the Americas. As it's a safety certification though I would seriously doubt the Songs would pass it/be approved etc

how much does smart outlet power consume?
@bonnies52265 жыл бұрын
Thanks for putting up this video! I am trying to find some way to be able to monitor how much power the device has used during certain periods of time. This is for my clothes dryer. My flatmates need to pay X amount to cover the cost of the power used. But the app only breaks it down into a whole day. Any idea how to break it down further? Thanks!

Very late reply but you are wanting a watt meter, many of them even include the ability to put the electricity price into it so it will work out the actual cost of running.

Can anyone help with what model of Sonoff in Australia will be same as HS110 with energy Monitoring feature ?
@hein2786 жыл бұрын
Hi there, thank you for the video. Would you know whether the scheduling function and the energy monitoring will continue even without a wifi / internet connection? My broadband connection can be flaky at times. Thank you.

Hi, Heinrich. That Isa very good question. I'll test it out shortly and let you know how it goes
@HASSCASTS6 жыл бұрын
Hi again, Heinrich I'm having Internet and network outside of my own at the minute and so I needed to reset both my TP-Link sockets. Now that that is done, I can tell you that yes they work perfectly well on a local only network /no access to the Internet. The KASA app just says "local" at the side of the socket. And as they will have locally issued IP addresses, they can be controlled from anywhere on the same sub network

Thank you so much for doing the test. I’m off to place my order :)

Does it keep trying to connect to wifi at all times? I am trying to reduce radiation. Thanks
@HASSCASTS6 жыл бұрын
Hi, Jason. I'll try and look into this for you. I'm aware of the Wireshark tool and have used it in a couple of occasions, so I'll dig that out tonight as I'm sure it's installed on my system and I'll monitor the 2 TP-Link sockets I have and get back to you with the results.

Hi, Jason. Sorry for delay. I have so many things on my desk at the moment I'm thinking of charging myself storage dir the things on there. I'll try and get it done today
@HASSCASTS6 жыл бұрын
Hey, Jason. Unfortunately, I've not been able to find out as yet. I haven't had an Internet connection to speak of for the past 3 weeks, just my mobile connection, and as you can imagine, I need more than that to monitor any support of traffic on the network. I will have Internet active again, next Monday though
@jasonl42376 жыл бұрын
No worries. Take you time, appreciate your help in testing it. Thanks. Just wondering if the smart plug only connect to wifi during setting up. If the smart plug keep trying to connect to wifi at all times I am wondering if it will transmit radiation/emf all the times and not sure if it is safe to use it.

Hey, Jason. After getting my internet back on last week (hurray!), I forgot all about this and luckily I had several comments that I hadn't replied to so I saw this thread again. I have just put a note on the front of my desk/bed table/dressing table/standing support (it ought to get an award this desk). Anyway, I've just stuck it to the front of it with a magnet so hopefully, I'll get around to doing it tomorrow night after I finish editing my latest video and get that published. Thanks yet, again for your time, John

How to use a smart plug in a family of 3 (phones)? Only 1 account?
@HASSCASTS6 жыл бұрын
Hi, Gunilla, I have just tried this and I can confirm that all 3 phones will need to use the same account. I have just tried to connect with multiple accounts and as soon as you connect with the 2nd account it gives you a notification that the plug is no longer associated with it's the previous account. If you are a little worried about security, you could always create a separate email address for the socket and use that just for the plug. I hope that helped. Thanks for the question and the support, John

what u prefer hs110 or hs100
@HASSCASTS6 жыл бұрын
Hi, Santos Normally I prefer the Hs100 if it is just for something such a lamp, but if it's for something important or something that users a decent amount of electricity then for me it has to be the HS110. Does that answer your question?
