What I actually found with this router is that the longer you have it plugged in the faster the speeds get. I don’t know how long you waited but when u first plugged it in the wifi was about the same, but when I waited about 30 minutes to an hour, the speeds went up tremendously. For me it’s a great buy and when i stream I no longer have lag.

I'm glad it worked for you. There are a lot of factors in play and everyone's situation is going to be different. I've been using routers and extenders for about 10 years and for me this product wasn't worth it. I found a better repeater/extender that actually worked for me and made a video of it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bWeZlHp4ftuYoZY

I stopped using these range extenders, their performance is just not good enough to recommend. If you really need the distance you're better off with a mesh WiFi router system or hard wire a second router. A few months ago I switched to Tmobile Home Internet and my WiFi signal on their cylinder looking Gateway is better than the Linksys router I owned. I'm very pleased with the Gateway TMobile provided me.

Can you please try the same test but with an ethernet cable being used
@ChavezDIY3 жыл бұрын
I no longer have this range extender, I sold it. The ethernet port on this range extender is an IN port meaning that the cable is coming from a router and connecting into this device so it can provide wireless internet. If that is what you are asking that should work fine.
@pops88554 жыл бұрын
Extremely informative. I enjoyed watching it. Is the Ethernet port any good for connecting to a console for better speed ?
@ChavezDIY4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback! The Ethernet port on this range extender is only an IN port, not an OUT port, so it can only only receive an Ethernet cable that is coming from your router. When it comes to consoles, it is always going to be better to have them connected to your router using an Ethernet cable (if possible). If that is not possible, there are some really good gaming routers out there, but they are expensive and will run you a couple hundred (or more).

Does it extended the range more than router ?
@ChavezDIY4 жыл бұрын
No. Not in my case. I go over the details in the video. Your results may differ.

@@ChavezDIY i watched the video and this wasnt clear, You just said you got better speed from your router. When I work in my garage, my problem isnt my speed, the problem is only sometimes can I connect to the router in my house. I need something to extend the range so I can always connect
@ChavezDIY2 жыл бұрын
@@acreageliving Put simply, I don't recommend buying this device. If your speed is good but your signal drops, you can try changing the channel on the router and maybe decreasing interference. I have a video giving tips on wifi routers here kzbin.info/www/bejne/gIjIaIOheJalpck If that does not work for you, look into this other extender that was better than this one, I have a video here kzbin.info/www/bejne/bWeZlHp4ftuYoZY

Can this extender boost the unencrypted WiFi networks (open WiFi)
@ChavezDIY4 жыл бұрын
I don't think it will work to boost open WiFi networks. The range extender needs to access the router settings, so you'll need to have the admin password of the router. Another option is to try a USB Long Range WiFi adapter to see if that helps improve signal to your location, sometimes it even helps to make a parabola to tie into the antennas of the long range adapter. Here's an example of a long range adapter amzn.to/32ULIs9. Here is the template to make your own windsurfer parabola to put on the atennas of the adapter www.aegisarts.com/wifi/ez12.pdf

hallo how much meter can that tp link n300 mack i mean 100 m or 50 m or how much meter,, thx
@ChavezDIY3 жыл бұрын
I don't have this device anymore. Not sure if you are referring to the distance of the extender to the main router or the distance from a computer to the extender. The distance will vary depending on obstructions in the way such as walls, brick, metal, and other electronic devices in the way. In my experience, after about 13 meters distance from the main router, the extender would disconnect a lot.

every time i connect this extender a wifi connection for the tp link does not even pop up.. starting to think i got ripped off..
@ChavezDIY3 жыл бұрын
Reset it using the button on the extender and try it again. To set it up, your computer and extender need to be close to the main router. If you're doing everything correct and you don't see the TP link router pop up, something is wrong.
@Bruisader2 жыл бұрын
Perfectly explained vdo but u dint tell the distance u are using and the partitions /walls in bertween.
@ChavezDIY2 жыл бұрын
Thanks. At about 36 seconds in the video I mention the windows and one wall with stucco that are in between the router and the computer. The location of the extender has about the same interference except instead of a window with stucco around it, its a wood door (with a medium sized window) and stucco around the door. Its about 60ft from my Router to Computer and about 40ft from the Extender to the computer.

@@ChavezDIY Thanks for reply. A final question , do u think ,if this extender is placed where wifi is 1 out of five bars on mobile and still it will extend the signal?
@ChavezDIY2 жыл бұрын
@@Bruisader It may give you additional coverage but your speeds will likely be lower on the extender compared to your wifi router. I currently use a Rockspace extender that I also reviewed and recommend it more than this TP-Link extender. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jpTdn3V5ls6Jrqc

I tested TP-Link RE505X (Wifi-6) Extender w/ TP-Link AX1500 router. The Extender's 5g download was equal or better than the router's but the Extender's 2.4g (11g) was always 75% slower than the router's. Same results with another new RE505X. This seems to be a common problem some TP-Link Extender's 2.4g band from what I have uncovered. This can be a real problem with old devices that only support 802.11g with a slow Internet speed.

Interesting. The TP-Link extender didn't work for me and I didn't want to spend money on other TP-Link products. It's really complicated because finding the right product because like you mentioned the age of the wifi tech in the receiving device can make a difference. I tried the Rockspace repeater and I got better results compared to TP-Link. Check that one out and see if it works for you. Here's my video on it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bWeZlHp4ftuYoZY

@@ChavezDIY I got it working w/o any assistance from TP-Link. I changed the Extender's SSID's to match the router's (host) SSID's. Originally, '_Ext' was appended to the Extender's SSID's. Extender's 2.4g download now matches router's 2.4g download even in weak signal areas. To access TP-Link's Extender's web via tplinkrepeater.net I must connect over the 5g network. Using 2.4g network will not work. It use to work when SSID's were different.

Range extenders work that way. They extend the signal but needs to throw the data on the main router. Thats why extenders practically produce half the speed of isp speed
@ChavezDIY3 жыл бұрын
I had high hopes that maybe after several years they would get better, but like you mentioned, they have their limitations. The only way to get great speeds is to hard wire the extender to the main router.
