Works semi plug and play on Mac OS 10.14 (probably others as well). You need to disable the built in BT though.

What I've been wondering is... is listening to music using a bluetooth adapter good in terms of audio quality? I've heard that some adapters produce mono audio, instead of stereo. I have not experienced any problems pairing my TPLINK USB500 with my Bluetooth headphones but every time I reboot, I need to pair my Bluetooth headphones with it. As for autopair I have not seen that.
