Marshall threw one step or no step passes on 26 of 31 snaps. How the hell is the dline supposed to get a ton of pressures when there is literally .5 seconds to do anything? Even in the run game, Marshall averaged 3.95 yards per carry. They were only running it well on the first drive after which OSU adjusted

OK true, let's say there was not enough time to get sacks. I get that and can live with no sacks. They didn't seem to be getting a push at all though. Even if the ball is gone in a second shouldn't you still might see a push. I hope it was just the extreme heat plus rotating 3rd stringers, but the d line was concerning to me and I cant just chalk it all up to Marshall's quick drops.

The d line definitely could have played better, but to me the lb’s were worse. Did Simon make one tackle? Also Style’s just waits forever to react. Give Powers a real chance and play him with Reese.

I thought the offense played really well vs Marshall, the defense looked tired and wasn’t up for the game!. The defense never played anything like that vs Akron, Western Michigan!!. Yes I noticed there were issues that happened during that game that we never saw in the two previous games as well. No pass rush, defense tackles didn’t play well, tired of hearing about Tylek being out hurt the defense!!! Yes he’s a very good player, there shouldn’t be much drop off with the talent behind him!! The linebackers aren’t looking all that great, continue to struggle. I don’t know, I’m just hoping that they’re playing much better when everything matters towards the end!!! Go Bucks

Kelly is a really creative play-caller who DELIGHTS in frustrating opposing Defensive Coordinators...they are just really scary to defend...Quinshon and Treyveon are 1st and second in yards per carry through three games in the Bigten!!

After what they called improvement week the game was a regression by the defense, no improvement at all. Coach Knowles did not make the adjustments soon enough in my opinion.

about the d-line I said this pre-season, go to a 3-3-5 with CJ going outside rush, JT moving down and 1 of the tackles coming off. you could of just left hero out, talk about the perfect opportunity to give it a look

I agree with the critique of the front four, but what about the LBs? I know Cody Simon was on the field but I don’t recall hearing his name being mentioned during broadcast. The other LBs seem to always be out of position in gap support. Styles for all of his talent never seems to attack, but waits for the runner come to him.

Yes!!! Completely agree with your assessment. We have had bad linebacker play for the last few years. It is time for buckeye nation to accept the fact that Sonny Stiles Is a 5 star bust.!!! I don't want to hear about his position change. He has been in this program for 3 years. Hell the running back from TTUN was a linebacker last year and is now tearing it up as a running back this year. I am starting to question whether James Laurinaitis is the right coach. Just because he was a great linebacker doesn't mean that translates to being a good coach.

Larry J is a phenomenal technical coach and leader of young men. None of us are excellent at everything. He clearly is not a good tactician or he would have been moved up to a coordinator decades ago so Day needs to step in and change that aspect of the d-line dynamic.

OVER REACTION MONDAY!!! 1) Marshall got the ball out super super fast. As Landis pointed out, 1 or 0 step drops in 26 of 31 throws. No Dline is getting sacks there. 2) Marshall O line is not that bad as well. They had only given up 3 sacks coming into the game. Asking an ok line to hold up for just a brief time makes it very hard to get to the qb.

The reason we couldn’t get off the field against Marshall was not that pass rush. They’re taught to cage rush. The backers cannot cover or tackle and looked lost in space. It’s not just CJ, it’s the entire room minus Reese. Austin refuses to acknowledge any short comings in that room.

Marshall Quarterback got the ball out quickly what games was yall watching.. So defensively they gave up two drives, 1 to begin the game and 1 to end the half, that netted 203 yards. Then yielded only 61 yards the entire 2nd half and it was a bad day defensively??? Are we gonna give a decent Marshal team any credit for making some good plays and having a good game plan?!? Just curious. . . JT got flattened a couple times in this game. As the number one defensive recruit in the Country, #44 has not lived up to the billing. He got a ton of NIL money to come back and so far has been quiet. Larry Johnson is coaching on his past, because his present is under performing. I believe there is a huge disconnect between him and Knowles. This the reason the Jack position is a myth. Larry thinks he can put 4 guys on the line bull rushing with no twists, Stunts or spin moves on every play and be successful. It’s time to get a young aggressive line coach who can revive the Rushman. Larry is still coaching in the 80’s.
