Hey guys, this video sucks. I was way to negative and dramatic this time around, and I would never make a video like this nowadays. Not to mention, I gave up on the editing half way through and just started playing random clips and images. I like to think I've improved alot since then so if you have any problems with this video (like the awful audio quality) It's not what I do anymore.

I'm surprised you didn't mention that both Satomi and Pokey got fired??? Both of them were responsible for writing a lot of BFB, but more important to this video: BFB 13, 14 and 15, episodes considered the best in the entire show by some. Satomi was TPOT's showrunner while Cary and Michael (plus Sam) were mainly BFB Post-Split, as Satomi was more responsible for the character-arcs and things like that, literally TPOT was going to have (by Michael's own words: " story-arcs, character development, longer stories (more story-centered) and longer episodes (TPOT's 2 length)", and that was starting to happen in TPOT 1 and 2). You could do a bit more investigation if you want later, but to give you some context on what happened: Michael and Cary fired both her and Pokey out of the show (that they hadn't have that much involvment with), because of "efficiency problems and creative differences", and that just feels... wrong?? Comparing TPOT 1 and 2 to the later episodes really shows it, and while I do understand the "efficency problems" part, it is 100% understandable why they were taking long with episodes, to be high quality, animation and writing wise. And the "creative differences"... well, I think it was probably because they wanted TPOT to be like a better version of post-split (again, compare TPOT 1 and 2 with later episodes), Satomi even thought of bringing Liy back to TPOT (same way Spongy and Loser came back) before it started but decided to leave her in the EXIT, because she was going to do more with the Exitors. Sadly, after TPOT 1 and 2, they told her that they didn't wanted that, and then proceeded to fire her. And after that, TPOT just... wasn't the same. Teardrop was probably back for a possible arc with Eggy (and even Winner, which could tie with Winner-Clock arc) (judging by TPOT 2,) because she was different in Post-Split than in TPOT, but now that they didn't do that (Eggy is out now), so now she just feels weird being here. Same with the Clock situation, Satomi probably planned to make the Winner/Clock arc better that whathever thing we got in TPOT 3, and probably the same with Team8s. The tone really changed too, and I don't see really a lot of people mentioning this, but am I the only one annoyed by the copyright-free sound effects that are now? They don't feel like they fit in BFDI, they sound straight out of a kid's video. I got nothing more to say about the situation, just that it's sad that a lot of TPOT's original ideas and visions for it are now gone and it's now a different thing compared what it was supposed to be. I don't hate TPOT, but if it's going to continue like this, then BFB Pre-Split is going to be, in my opinion, better than whathever the future has in store for us. I recommend you watch A Person On KZbin's "TPOT Rewritten", it's in Episode 0 (and it's just a narration for now), but it really focuses on fixing a lot of the problems you mentioned here.

Yes, I am fully aware that APOY has well-meaning intentions and legitimate reasons for having that approach, but again, considering *my* perspective, that approach can be interpreted as downplaying the value of the sincere efforts exerted by the current writers who are trying to recapture the same creative writing style that Satomi brought to writing TPOT 1-2.

This is a very good video, so I thought of making a comment about explaining whatever part you do feel confused (or rather, the ones I do feel like talking about), so let’s see: 1:23 On a logic standpoint, it doesn’t make sense that TPOT was gonna be the season to be focused on, considering the massive number of contestants in the season, but when you think about it, many characters from the TPOT cast never really had moments to shine in bfb, so I feel like TPOT was gonna be that season to give attention to those characters that debuted in bfb and never really did much to become absolute favorites. So in a way, while it logically doesn’t make sense, there is some kind of logic behind that decision i feel like 2:12 I actually agree, TPOT 1 is definitely one of the best TPOT episodes by far, lots of the characters interactions and overall I would say that the episode really felt like the wait was worth it 2:26 Yeah, although that line came from eggy (and I definitely do like when eggy is featured in any way in stuff like thumbnails or titles), it still feels like this episode could have had a much better title 3:46 Although the clock storyline is never brought up again, especially since none of the losers newbies stayed together, I do think that the winner storyline with clock is somewhat connected to that forgetting clock storyline, I’ve heard from some clock fans that him being so obsessed over winner is some kind of way for clock to remain as a remarkable person in the team, while also that being mixed with a genuine interest clock has in winner and their mysterious past. So while the forgetting clock storyline did end, I do feel like clock’s actions in TPOT regarding winner are somewhat related to the events of bfb 4:38 As a Nonexisty voter as well, I definitely do think that the way they handled Nonexisty not joining TPOT was very bad, since all those Nonexisty voters basically wasted their vote on him. And to add salt to the injury, I think I’ve heard somewhere that if Nonexisty DID get the most votes overall, he would have actually joined the show, which really does piss me off if I have to be honest. If you weren’t planning to have Nonexisty in the show, just don’t include him at all in the debut voting. 5:30 Oh trust me, I’ve seen a lot of people praise cake, even during bfb, there’s really no way that he would have gotten the most votes, especially when you look at how many votes cake received in BFB 13’s popularity poll, getting right in the middle of the cast, with 364 votes and placing 34th out of the 64th contestants. I can tell you with confidence that if the losers were gonna be put UFE again, Eggy would have very likely taken the boot, she’s always been a very hated character, getting the last safe place in bfb 7, and considering she legit got dead last in that same bfb 13 popularity poll with only 70 votes, I doubt that anyone in the losers, and especially cake, would have gotten eliminated. 8:02 To be completely fair, there is possibility for the exitors to possibly returning, because they are inside four, and he is now back in TPOT, which might be the reason why he’s back, so that the exitors can finally escape, and maybe have one of them rejoin TPOT, if that’s the case then I am hyped to see how they would connect the stories together! 8:17 TPOT 2 has got to be the best TPOT episode, easily getting a 10/10 for me, it felt like it was such a great episode filled with amazing character interactions and stories, it really was quite great, even if it has some bad moments 8:35 I didn’t even realise that they put this much focus on black hole, that’s actually amazing! 9:09 Yeah golf ball was pretty forgettable this time around, I must admit, it’s gotta be the weakest golf ball episode in TPOT probably, but I wouldn’t say that’s too bad? 9:50 I do disagree with that actually, Teardrop has always been shown to be a super competitive person, ever since BFDI I would say, but episodes like bfb 27 definitely helped to signify this side of her, where she absolutely was the biggest threat in said challenge, she’s always been a super competitive player, and seeing her on her own team just expanded that side of her a lot more 10:25 allow me, as I do have an idea on what teardrop’s purpose was gonna be in TPOT! You may have noticed this too, but you must have seen how eggy did get a lot more attention during the first two episodes, pretty much feeling like one of the main pillars of her team, so I do think that Teardrop joined TPOT specifically for helping eggy be a lot more developed troughout the episodes, you did see how eggy recovered Teardrop later in the episode, so I do think that a storyline between eggy and Teardrop was gonna be a thing, where maybe eggy would secretly help Teardrop in the challenges, or more simple, just having these two talk and interact with each other, that may have not been the case, but that’s what I like to believe. Another reason is that teardrop’s been a very unlucky character, considering that out of the 3 eliminations she’s had, only one of them was not unfair, in BFDI snowball ruined their team’s chances at winning, but he gets saved by the squishy cherries instead, and in BFDIA someone literally rigged the votes to get Teardrop eliminated (which would explain why she both got the most votes for the prize and the most votes to be eliminated). You could argue her BFB’s elimination was also unfair, because of flower’s bias, but i wouldn’t personally count that one. So I do think it’s pretty fair to let Teardrop have this new chance to win, after her rookie history of getting screwed over. 11:07 Yeah, saw really was a good character before bfb 7, the 8 gag has never been funny. Not much to say, but they definitely should have found a way to cure saw from this curse. 12:41 I’ve noticed this as well, and she’s one of the few characters that actually work really well in TPOT! That TPOT 3 scene really does get deep into puffball’s personality, and how she loves being praised, both by the fans and by other people, so this really helped her to get recognition for sure! 13:56 Yeah, the season needs to learn on how to divide each team’s screentime more evenly, team 8s specifically 15:08 That’s actually a fair point, donut was actually technically in this place before because of idfb, good point! Huh, what do you know. 17:34 Alright alright, while this might seem like Cary didn’t do well at writing, I would also like to mention that this is the only episode (besides TPOT 1), where Pin feels in character, in fact she’s actually really enjoyable in this episode, learning about her passion of plants, it’s really good especially when you compare this to most TPOT episodes, where they would just have pin act entitled and annoying about cheating. Post Split started as this light hearted second half of BFB, so there it was fine to have episodes like that. But with the promise that JnJ gave us back in the secret behind the split video that TPOT was gonna carry the torch of character development, and that promise being broken now, it really does feel like TPOT is slowly but surely degrading from a season that had the potential to become quite possibly the best season of the show, to now just the 2nd worst season of the show (since you know, TPOT is now just Post Split but slightly better). I really hope more people see this video, since you do bring up so many good points on how TPOT is currently heading to mediocrity with this rate. I might share this in my community post for people to see, because this video is definitely worth watching, as it has lots of great points on how TPOT is currently being handled. I agree with there being no point in Teardrop being in TPOT. The only thing I could think of is padding the episode out. Like in TPOT 6 where we waste time seeing her chase chocolate balls or TPOT 5 where her dynamic between herself and eraser just takes the focus off of other characters in the form of a looney tunes type of chase.

I, mostly agree with your arguments. TPOT is starting to feel formulaic. Every episode lately starts with characters messing around before Two does Cake at Stake. Each elimination has each character be sad for 3 seconds before going and ultimately being inconsequential. The team basically forgets about them. Challenges primarily involve contestants travelling elsewhere to gather or create/build something. Have characters be written without strong personalities so they're easy to write for when they all blend together. Ignore plot beats that were set up in previous episodes. Repeat.

I honestly don't understand why the people hate TPOT 2 like I understand the hate for teardrop joining but complaining other aspects? Like Having a simpler challenge in exchange for deep character interactions was good. Basically this is what it seems like. TPOT 1-2 was written by Satomi, took a long time and was good. Whereas Satomi was then fired, and then TPOT 3-6 was written by Sam/Cary, took a *short* time and was mediocre. It seems like Satomi wanted there to be character arcs, so she took her time to plan it. But JnJ doesn't want that and just wants faster episodes done

I loved teardrop in BFB and was super happy to see her return in TPOT2, but I think them bringing her back just made her worse because she gets practically no screen time, and being alone on her team means the only person she interacts with is eraser, and when that happens, nothing happens, and like you said in the video, if you think about it for three seconds there is 0 chance of her being eliminated because there'd be no point. Also I want to just reiterate how plain stupid it is to make the series with more characters be the one that takes longer to produce, and how they've acknowledged this themselves because they've started putting two teams UFE each episode.

IMO I think TPOT 6 was an improvement, but I agree with your points. It really does feel like BFDI has overall been slowly being succumed to Mr Beastization ever since BFB split. I mean, look at how the episodes are structured. And plus they just don't have that great of writing anymore and I honestly feel like that now the series is slowly turning into a generic tv show that is for preteens, it really does feel like eventually the show will get stale and boring and other object shows would be affected by this. It's already happening and the ONE phase had went away. Despite everything, this franchise overall is doing much, much better than your average show nowadays. Most shows won't even grow a fanbase slowly over time, and usually blow up from Tiktok but for BFDI it just kinda is growing more and more through each episode. TPOT 7 has the most votes EVER. No surprise that BFDI is growing towards a more younger and kiddish audience along with becoming Mr. Beastized inorder to keep up with the KZbin Economy. Even if TPOT goes to shit, atleast we have the earlier seasons (excluding Post Split) and overall the rest of the community. There are some insanely good shows like OOOIV, PB & GB, Item Invasion, and PPT2 STILL going on to this day. And the new growing object shows recently have been really good, even compared to the past. I think the community at this point will go through a phase of growing pains as it is forced to eventually diverge from the original BFDI homelands. Do I think it will end well? Maybe. But overall BFDI as a whole is changing and I don't think it will ever be the same as it was in the past. BFB was PEAK BFDI, and I don't think any show in the franchise can beat that. We still have the Object Community going strong however, and it will definitely have the earlier seasons be a bigger influence on some shows than others with Nostalgia. I think with BFB Nostalgia coming in the years, the new object shows will reflect a more 2018 type object show feel, and we will retrack the same paths we drove with a new lens.

Tbh, except for some like the BFDI and Inanimate Insanity franchises, The Daily Object Show, The Nightly Manor and ONE, object shows in general have kinda declined in popularity since 2019 as many people moved to other indie cartoons like Vivienne's work, The Music Freaks and Ollie and Scoops. Sadly, they are now in the same levels of "not so big as it used to be" popularity as Pencilmation, Eddsworld and Homestar Runner.

Honestly yeah, there's just no heart, and soul any more. Tpot just seems like a corporate product. Jacknjellify have gotten, so big they forgotten how it was when they were small. Then they put episodes out without any thought.

Something I’ve always hated is when they literally just forget about certain things that end up going forgotten forever. They forget about smaller things like Roboty’s Waterfall and Bombay’s Secret, to things as big as Four hating Two, Donut’s Diary, entire fucking characters like Evil Leafy. One thing I noticed too is the characters voices becoming more high pitched and exaggerated compared to older seasons where they just sounded like they were talking. I think the show started to try and appeal to younger audiences because of how big the channel is now. (Even in bfdia 6 the woah bunch acts too “wholesome” when they used to insult each other all the time)

Ok coming back to this video a couple days later because it's the best place I can think of to rant about I don't like about this show: THEY SHOULD'VE STARTED WORKING ON IDFB AGAIN! It's literally perfect, season 3 was never cancelled, and with the lack of a competition, it was the perfect place to tell a story! Rather than splitting the show, they could've made BFB the silly and easy to make one, and picked up the show they weren't using and have IDFB episodes coming out simultaneously doing the job TPOT is supposed to!

Personally I liked the episodes 3, 4, and 5, for there goofy ideas. But as your name as implies, there are definitely some bad trends popping up, especially with characterization. Death Pact went from some of the greatest characters to the a bunch of copy-pastes. Sometimes characters get a bad mix of conflict and irrelevance that just makes them look like a jerk for an episode. And I agree, that the worst offender is clearly Team8's, all of them feel like they've lost their soul and are just following a plot.

Great video! I agree with most things you said about tpot, since i recently rewatched bfdia, and thought to myself: "Wow this season is really good compared to what tpot is doing now". Honestly this answers my question of there being something different about tpot compared to bfdia and bfb. I also think that post-split bfb is better since there was the blocky-woody arc, the whole thing at the end with 4 sinking into the ground and such. Tpot feels like they decided to erase all of the arcs for the sake of goofiness, and it shows. In tpot 3, clock tried to get winner on stage and winner didnt like that at all. The next episode feels like nothing ever happened between them.

I'll attempt to give my stance on Teardrop's inclusion. I really dont mind Teardrop being in TPOT. I think her being in any scene is to give an excuse to stretch visual comedy. Some things they do with her are very creative and very fun because she CAN'T talk. And while she did compete and lost in BFB, yes. Every character has competed in multiple seasons except only a few. Firey won the first season, and while the prize was never given, he still made it to first place; So with that logic it would make sense to exclude him from every other season too. Teardrop being given another chance isn't really a bad idea, because with TPOT (if they choose to) they can focus on giving her more character driven storylines even with her silence. This all goes for the other characters that competed in the final 14 of BFB since Post-Split was meant to focus on comedy rather than story. With this all being said however, i can agree immensly that this split was confusing and kind of a detrement especially seeing how TPOT is being handled rn. The firing of Satomi might have to do with how changed and not very great the writing and structure of it is now. The whole point of TPOT was meant to be more in depth and higher quality just how Pre-Split BFB was turning into; But like it's honestly taking a backpedal into how Post-Split BFB was. I sincerely hope it all gets better because rn it is NOT it.

Characters who were ruined in TPOT in 6 episodes. Pin - Her cheating ARC was hated by a lot of people Tennis ball - One line in TPOT Saw - Her Eight gag was very annoying to people. I hoped that they dropped it, but they didn't. Cloudy - Him and balloony spilt up for some reason. And then he started to become bland that ended up in him getting robbed. The whole of Death P.A.C.T again - They keep on losing challenges by preventing death and dropping the challenges which caused them to lose three challenges in 6 episodes. Team8s! - Due to the weird writing, They all got ruined. Blackhole - The writers keep on making him the reason why his team is UFE which is really annoying because I don't want to lose him and all the other characters on Death P.A.C.T again. I can understand you're points. While tpot is pretty good imo, I do think the writing in the recent episodes are kind of weird. To be honest, newer episodes of tpot aren’t necessarily bad, but if I were to describe them compared to earlier episodes of tpot/bfb I’d say newer episodes feel very plastic. A lot of very smooth samey animation, over exaggerated voice acting, more childish humour and drawn out jokes, characters being changed out of no where for no reason. I really do miss the charm with little details and jokes in earlier episodes that made it feel a lot more unique. The newer episodes, like I said aren’t bad but they’re definitely mediocre Edit: one other thing I really dislike is character bias, or changing character personalities/habits so they’re more likely or less likely to be eliminated, it’s getting tiring seeing characters be butchered for this (death pact again has suffered through this a lot recently)

The reason is they we're made quicker. TPOT 1 and 2 had a gap of about a year and a half. But the newer episodes took shorter then that huge gap. The issue is they are falling for the fans getting impatient and making new episodes too quickly leaving no time for reasonable character development. Pin was the most butchered out of the Team8's as well, and its sad to see her character become so whiny and complaining. It's a far cry from who she used to be. my immersion in TPOT just wasn't there. The prize is as abstract as Two's power, and will probably be retconned by next season since it's blatantly overpowered, so they're just battling for more screen time at this point. Eliminations are unpredictable with all the random humor and vote botting, cutting off character arcs multiple times. I suppose it's because of the lackluster environment they had for TPOT. Pre-Spilt BFB had so much it in, from the huge volcano, to Gelati ns Stakehouse, the Moon, the EXIT. Each challenge felt like it was taking place in a different atmosphere, but still had the same every altogether. With TPOT, the writers REALLY wanted to hone down on character development, so they made the challenges and setting less, so that most of the time can be decixated to character relationships. The problem with TPOT now is that they're now doing bland challenges to "fix" stuff, which isn't really interesting. As for the prize, I do agree with you that it's very abstract, and it should be more specific as to what it is. They barely show what the power is exactly now. However, I feel like it gives the contestants the incentive to actually battle for the prize, as the poqer can be used for MANY different goal.

I agree with most of the points in this video, however I think it's important to note how much of an impact Satomi being fired had on the show. She, along with Pokey (her girlfriend) were easily the best writers on the show, but Satomi was asked to step down as showrunner after TPOT 2 due to creative differences and for slowing down the production cycle of TPOT, which is fair. Guess which episodes are among the ones they wrote? That's right, BFB 14 and 15, and TPOT 1 and 2. AKA, the best ones. TPOT 3 was the first one without Satomi and Pokey as writers, and the difference in writing quality is staggering. Don't get me wrong, I still like Sam's writing (TPOT 3, 5, and 6) but honestly the first two episodes of TPOT might never be beaten for me.

Teardrop may of had her chances but in some episode of a pre post split bfb video somone asks “where did teardrop go” and my answer could be she ran away over to goiky because she thought she finished her service participating in pre post split bfb which does not explain a lot but the theory is still great and the questions aren’t answered yet.I’m wondering if TPOT 9 will be any better like more screen time of exitors but I have noticed a pattern every six episodes there is a exit clip perhaps the one coming up can be them actually exploring what they had find…but cliff hangers do exist so we are left hanging and still waiting for more.But however the show is driving down a dodgy path because of the eliminations like when lightning destroys everything he could in TPOT 7 and how clock throws a fit. And how winner does not like clock. Also a bfb reference where Firey and leafy fallout. But however, the secrets along TPOT idfb Bfdia still remain…

Hi I agree and as much as Tpot is fun to watch I agree with what your saying about the characters and story and when I make my web series I always take my characters and right them very well also I make sure that none of them are flanderized also I will start to watch the og Bfdi at some point as well thank you so much for this video ❤

The final nail in the coffin for this argument of BFDIA vs TPOT is the fact that BFDIA now frequently uses SHADERS and even 3D animation. TPOT on the other hand, is so stale that I would much rather wait for the finale, probably around TPOT 30, than wait for a new episode.

I think that the reason they wanted Teardrop in TPOT is becous she has had some of if not the worst eliminations ever. In BFDI she lost pretty early becous pencil voted against her alliance by voting snowball to be safe. In BFDIA she was one of the first ones out becous of that one person that told all there fans/friends do dislike the teardrop video and most of then did not know what bfdi was so they just disliked Teardrops video. BFB whas realy the only fair one out of the ones. So that is why i think they wanted her in TPOT!

This is my third time commenting but I just wanted to say this, when he says that the bracelets in Tpot 4 make BFDIA 5 less special because she could’ve just made ti win the challenge in the same episode tennis ball says “wow golf ball your really getting into wearable tech” meaning that before this episode golf ball didn’t really make wearable tech or probably didn’t know how to make wearable tech before Tpot 4 and Tpot 3. I just wanted to point this out.

i like how the fortune cookie was right, since nowadays with BFDIA and TPOT, the jacknjellify crew have been able to do exactly what they wanted back when post-split was happening, since post split episodes coming out every 2 weeks but tpot 1 only coming out when the season was almost over, but now with BFDIA, they have managed to find a perfectly good release schedule, with it being around a TPOT episode, being more polished and character focused releasing every 2 months, and a BFDIA episode, being more silly and goofy releasing every 1 month.

I honestly agree with this review TPOT had a perfect start in the first two episodes. TPOT doesn’t feel the same nowadays. After the second episode, the writing is downgraded to downright childish or too fast paced. I know it’s a nitpick but still

tldr: tpots 1-2 is great because it showed character development and gave every character a chance to actually do something. tpots 3-6 are basic and formulaic to the point where its not fun to watch. the show has also developed continuity issues and character derailments.

I don’t disagree with a lot of it, I still love TPOT though. I think a lot of it comes down to how you view the show. I started watching BFDI before IDFB came out (that long break after BFDIA 5e), and let me tell you the pure joy I had when IDFB and BFB1 came out was nothing short of fantastical. This show I absolutely loved that I never thought would come back, did. Through the early bits of BFB, things were rough, but things obviously turned in BFB 13/14 to this very story driven show. I totally understand the appeal to this, but from my perspective this hasn’t been a central focus of the show, it mostly just came down to whoever would be writing. Like Cary said in “Let’s keep BFDI casual”, BFDI was meant to be a non-serious fun to watch show, it was built as a passion project for the creators. Satomi became the lead writer, and Satomi wanted more story based writing so that’s what we got. This was at the cost of it taking a long time to produce. This is fine for a while, but not forever so I completely understand having to switch lead writers. Sam focuses more on BFDI inspired writing which is what we’re instead getting now. At the end of the day I wouldn’t particularly care what we receive I’m just happy to get an entertaining show that has the same magic. What I mean by this, is something about TPOT makes me excited for new episodes, similar to BFB pre-split. BFB post-split lost a lot of this magic to me because of the forced characters and plot-lines, actually I’m not entirely sure what it was but it felt entirely like filler. TPOT is more interesting because of the large cast and interesting situations. Again not fully sure, but it feels inspired again. I guess what I’m getting at, is that TPOT feels inspired, like it may not be inspired in the story driven way, but rather in the unique circumstances, which again is more similar to BFDI. I think there is definitely a lot of points to be taken into consideration from your video that should be implemented, but I still love the show for having the same charm it had pre-split.

Another thing I want to point out, is that BFB started out very similarly to the recent episodes of TPOT. It isn't a total stretch of the imagination to assume that the show could change later on.
