Today, we join Starlight and Trixie as they help Thorax deal with his aggressive brother, who seems allergic to change.

I guess you could say Pharynx became the Batman of the Changelings: dark, but not evil. Tough, but with the Hive's well-being at heart. Heck, even his throaty voice is similar to the Bale version!

1. 1:55 Trixie: "Well, not exactly straight, Starlight." I didn't even realize how that statement could be taken out of context at first, but so many other people have jumped on it that I have to wonder if the writer knew what he was doing. 2. 3:32 [Shield me, Starlight!] Well she _does_ know all kinds of shield spells, so if ever there was a pony you should want to duck for cover behind it'd be her. 3. 4:54 "Some people just can't handle change." Exhibit A: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qaPKoH9ri9ukhtU 4. 5:27 "A typical big brother bully." BBBBF? 5. 6:05 "To change or not to change..." Talk about going the extra mile for a joke! How long did you spend writing that one? And how many takes until you were satisfied with the way it sounded? 6. 7:13 "He needs a hobby!" Maybe if the others had just let him make his spears during craft time without making a big deal of it things wouldn't have gotten this bad. 7. 7:49 I hope the irony of asking "Are you for real?" of a fictional character wasn't lost on you. 8. 9:46 Starlight: "But now, Trixie has come to terms with being 2nd best..." More like 482nd best, and that's with making some generous assumptions about the unicorn population of Equestria. 9. 12:18 "Well, to be fair he's got a point about them needing to protect themselves, but the way he's behaving isn't exactly encouraging." When you put it that way, Pharynx sounds a little like Seabreeze. 10. 13:47 "Dammit Trixie, you're not helping!" Now that you mention it, I don't think she helped any the entire episode. Starlight was the proactive one; Trixie was the comic relief! 11. 14:57 "You know, Equestria is full of creatures you'd never want to run into." Including one that we saw a whole swarm of in the woods just a couple of episodes ago. 12. 15:57 ["Don't touch my flank!"] Not in public, at least! 13. 20:50 "Looks like your speech worked after all Glims, 'cause the cavalry's here!" That would be the perfect phrase to choose if those were ponies coming over that hill, and not pony-sized bugs. 14. 21:20 Trixie: "Too bad we can't get it to fight itself!" Wait a second. Does that count as help? Maybe Trix _was_ good for something this episode! :)

Pharynx reminds me of Vegeta from DBZ in the Buu Saga. A kind of grumpy jerk with a heart of gold. Also, on the subject of Chrysalis, one thing I don't like about this season is that we haven't had any episodes focusing trying to find her since, you know, she swore revenge on Starlight.

Thorax the peaceful king and pharynx the warrior king. The changelings are looking like a more peaceful and friendly insect Sparta.

Pharynx is a pretty cool character, I like him. I just realized that both Thorax and Pharynx were the only changelings the oddballs of the swarm in their previous forms(in terms of coloration in their designs).

This was a funny episode and I liked it more than I thought. However, I wish the Changelings where still villains.

1. And the Ursa Minor, lol 2. It's almost scary how often my thoughts and those of these ponies interlink. That's part of what's wonderful about this show: the relatability =) 3. Heh, yeah 4. Only people with wills of adamantium could resist an adorable pony face when they want something from you. I'd fold in seconds, lol 5. Or a Senzu Bean, XD 6. And yet, fear of a name increases fear of the thing itself. 7. A very scary (and very probable) possibility... 8. Not sure. I wonder that myself. 9. Heh. My headcanon for her actual appearance (not with the same Flash-made body model) is that she actually has a little bit of a gut. Not sure why, but I find the idea of her putting on a little weight since settling in at Twilight's castle adorable. =P 10. I still say Kelly deserves an award for her spectacular voice work =) 11. I may be in the minority, but I really like Pharynx's design. Primarily his pre-transformation. But the post change look took a lot of time to get used to. Especially Thorax's

This episode leaves me confused. I liked the new changeling hive. I liked Thorax's character development. I understood Pharynx for the most part. I actually liked Starlight in this (Devil's advocate here, but most of her issues were down to an average writer. Seriously, her plan was mostly scuttled by something she had no way of knowing and there's no other reason she couldn't just, I don't know, pick up all the bait and put it back?). Trixie felt like she'd taken a step back and got under my skin, but still had her moments. So, why doesn't this episode click with me? Maybe it's just the fact I'm comparing it to the fantastic start of the season but it came off as lacking something. Still, it at least got a decent booster from your commentary as always. Keep it up!

Virtually everything Starlight touches is a huge base breaker. I'll admit that whatever the reasons this was arguably her weakest episode, but I'm still deep in the pro-Starlight camp.
