Yeah him being able to pull at 44kph is crazy strong! I'm exactly the same weight as him and can barely hold 40kph

If you want the safest tire system I'd suggest tubeless with inserts. Any tube can lose pressure almost instantly. Glad you're doing better.

The above is right.. even with inserts or tubulars cornering is luck of the draw.

Even with butyl tube, still u can 'puncture quickly', its not about tpu or etc2. TPU or any other materials got nothing to do with it. Shit happened. Knew it first hand.

Running around 51km/h and hit a really sharp stone in the front at tmcr caused an instant flat for my tubeless, left side of the tyre was blown out, handlebar shaking like crazy. Luckily I have quite some experiences on instant flat, managed to stay chill and slowly stop by side then lalamove to the rescue LMAO. Only damage is a 5 months old maxxis high road and 2 spokes impacted hard enough so my front wheel is not as true now.

non cyclists may give us alot of stick for not staying on the cycle lane on TMCR, but the stones on the lane are seriously dangerous. thanks goodness our friend here is recovering.

I still remember TPU tubes used to be marketed as a lightweight and compact spare tube just to get you home, not as a speed gain.

I’ve experienced tpu (relatively) slow deflation as well as also sudden catastrophic deflation, which was probably more accurately described as the tube exploding, blew the tire off the (front) wheel rim, and albeit I tried with every fibre of my being to achieve it, it was still solely by magic that I controlled everything and came to a halt safely, standing up. I’m using them again, running completely different character tires, which, I have a theory is a critical part of the overall picture. [rim, tube, tire] But, out of curiosity, are there any cyclists who have long term experience with latex tubes and punctures, and have ever experienced this same sudden, in a flash, now you have air, bang! now you have zero and you’re on your rim, experience? Or is latex, invariably slower deflating?

The latex also quite dangerous if it pinch cause of frequent deflation😢. My front latex tube blow instantly after few mins of ride(after pump it). Fortunately, I rode slow at that time. A strange sound will be heard from the tyre is a clue for it.

Don’t think this is a used frame. It’s probably a new spare team bike frame and to your point 2, “light” in today’s disc brake world?

@@OompaLoompaCycling he said it's considered used so I assume it's without warranty, plus he had to spend a bit to get rid of the paint chips too. It's not very difficult to get to UCI weight limit, just a change of wheels probably.
