I agree with Zittel. People who tune into boxing for Jake Paul aren’t becoming fans of the sport because they watch these fights for a different reason. It’s a shame because Barrios Ramos and Taylor Serrano were two excellent showcases to draw fans in, but because neither are really talkers or “viral” they can’t grasp the attention of the modern audience. I wish I had a time machine so I could live through 20th century boxing.

It’s like a politician who’s dropping bombs on civilians in some foreign country, then posing for a photo op handing out backpacks at a school. Just because he does a nice thing doesn’t mean he’s not still shitty for the sport overall. Fighters like Canelo, AJ, and Inoue today and a number of historical legends have EARNED their way to stadium shows through their MERIT as athletes. The skills, talent, and fighting spirit of the great fighters are what make the sport worthwhile. This, above all else, is what made Tyson the phenom he was. At 58 he has none of that left. Jake Paul has very little of that. Strip away the merit aspect and all you’re left with is shit. It doesn’t matter if it’s the most perfectly cooked filet mignon you can possibly have, if it’s served alongside shit you’re sending it back. It’s a shame that us boxing fans who love a good steak have accepted the fact that we have to eat shit alongside it. Let’s have some dignity.

Zittel’s take here was perfect. I could not have said it any better. Literal “shit” is the perfect metaphor. Strip boxing of all the things that make it inspiring and this is what you’re left with. All of the things that made Tyson an elite champion are gone at 58. Jake Paul doesn’t come close to having those kind of traits. Without any of that, it’s just shit. And the country ate it up, knowing it was shit. No dignity. And it doesn’t matter that he brings good fights with it. Idk man I had Katie Taylor winning that fight. She landed cleaner punches and her counters were effective. I also think Serranos punches were smothered a lot fighting up close. Compubox don’t always tell a fight. I agree Serrano pushed the pace and momentum but not without receiving punishment. I would love to see Serrano tighten up on defense and cut off the ring more from Katie.

Katie didn't win .. she threw less punches and landed less punches , plus Amanda landed more harder punches .. and as the connect percentage goes .. Amanda landed with more accuracy .. Amanda at 44% and Katie 41% 3 points higher for Amanda , but the big shocker was Amanda landed 107 more punches than Katie .. the 107 punches landed can't be denied or ignored , Amanda was the busier fighter .. while Katie clinched more and ran a lot through out the entire fight , but I also felt that Katie's punches were also smothered , I had Amanda winning the fight.
