What are yall talking about, Shakur said that he would fight Tank in November if Loma pulled out. Tanks team had contact with Shakurs team and said that Tanks side wanted a 1 fight deal and Shakurs side wanted a multiple fight deal. Shakurs and his team then goes to Eddie and does a multi fight deal which Eddie said does not include a potential fight with Tank. Who's ducking? Tank is talking about retirement because the Promoters and fighters are not trying to fight him, so why stress out worrying about the belts and legacy if his opponents and their team doesn't want to make the fights . Only thing Tank can do is make the best fights he can and get his money. I wouldn't worry about the belts much either. With all the robberies by judges in recent history how can you say the belts matter ? The people in control is going to give the belts to who they want regardless of how the fight goes. Retiring at 35 has always been more of the norm than 40+, the last 15-ish years have extended that with medicine/science, and consciousness of life after on the front end (ie not fighting 6x a year as a worle champion level guy). The problem is Tank just turned 30 not 35. I think his apprenticeship under Haymon and Floyd has trained him to approach the game a certain way and he realizes he can't get it off because his environment is not Floyd's. Other than Loma theres no entertaining/50-50 on paper but 65/35 in the ring fight. Everyone Tank is being asked to deal with is younger than him. He's being forced to choose between money and legacy in a manner that Mayweather never had to. That being said, Tank's last fight will not be in 2025.
