I wish my MRI physics lecturer could have explained it all this way. Watching your 7 videos has been such a break through. The way you deliver this content is so logical and these concepts of T1 and T2 weighted images FINALLY make sense to me. Keep up the great work and thank you so much.

Definitely need more content from you. I have asked myself so many of the same questions and it’s starting to click after watching your lectures. I’m going back through several more times and taking notes for sure. Would love to see how you explain pulse sequences, kspace, and Velocity encoding. Keep up the great work!

Thank you so much, can you lecture on the parameters: fov, matrix and tr that influence time?

We briefly get into factors that affect imaging time in the Spin-Echo lecture kzbin.info/www/bejne/rHyZgZh5hdWCgrs and Turbo/Fast Spin Echo kzbin.info/www/bejne/kIialapjr7Fsla8 if you haven't checked those out already but will keep the other factors in mind for future lectures. Thanks for commenting and supporting the channel, really appreciate it!

I noticed that the T1 relaxation times are constant. So does the MRI tech choose the TR time only to control TE or does the tech choose both TR and TE? I'm taking the ARRT test in December 2024

In general, the chosen TR time will affect T1 image contrast, and the chosen TE time will affect T2 image contrast and these values will remain constant for that sequence. For most sequences, these parameters are all ready chosen and optimized so the technologist simply picks the appropriate "protocol" to run. However, you can certainly manually go in and change the values of TE and TR, albeit this will change the contrast of the picture and you'll likely get an angry call from your local radiologist :)

Dude, ive been trying to wrap my head around how T2 relies on long tr and te when T2 decay happens much faster than T1 relaxation...this is the only place ive seen that explains how this actually works w the T2 decay being in the graph after the first TR.

This was a major source of confusion for me as well and likewise had difficulty finding that subtle but important piece to the puzzle which makes it all click!
