Played with the TR7 in the 80s the distributor was always a pain in the arse with these the shaft bearing suffered ware. I found that the distributor form a 1850 worked like a dream in the 2.0 but you had to very slightly advance the timing. I even pulled the floor out of one of mine launching it from the lights from memory i don't remember the brakes been bad were they the same calipers and pads from the 1275GT anyway seems very fit car for its age.

Noticed you have your battery with the terminals nearest the engine but most TR7s have theirs nearest to the wing side, any particular reason?

My Triumph battery is the same, has to be because the gnd terminal wiring is shorter that the +lead, so it cannot go around the other way. Perhaps it was in the earlier coupes?

Looks fantastic. But seriously don't know why anyone bothers with the 4cyl. They were designed for a V8!

The battery on the car isn’t actually a TR7 battery it was upgraded to a slightly bigger battery with higher cranking amp hours and that’s just how the terminals were
