I really enjoy your videos. I found your channel when you were working on a volvo 240. I also own a 1984 Volvo 245 wagon as a hobby car. Living in the US I know nothing about the cars you work on. Which makes your videos unique and entertaining. Thanks for sharing them.

Volvo 245s are the best hobby car to own. Without a doubt.

You made that R&R on the wheel drive assembly look easy! The bearing job usually goes about as slick as you were able to do it, but the ease at which you appeared to get the rubber boots onto the axle shaft... That's some doing! It took me about 3 hours per side when I did mine, but I know the boots I used were probably NOS and not the most pliable. Very nicely done.

Thank you Sean! And thanks for your small guide on a previous comment. The one I filmed was the second shaft... the first one I did took quite a bit longer... but then I found a good way to do it... But you can very easy stab a hole in the gaiter or stab yourself doing it this way though...

@@SeasideGarage There are a few tiny holes in the outer gaiters on mine... and a few holes in myself; Such is the learning process! Glad I was able to help.

A stationary CV boot. How wonderfully wierd.

You should end up with a car with genuine patina not recreated. Mechanically sound but a bit second hand is how I remember the cars of my youth.

I think it's safe to say, we all need a hydraulic press, even if it's just a manually operated one... :P
