For all you in your teens and twenties.... You are soooo young!! If you have a dream or a desire to do something... DO IT!!! You are never too old to go back to school, get braces, learn to fly a plane, see the world....whatever it is DO IT. If you ever think "I'm too old to do this".... Well.. your not... I wish I could go back and take that leap I was afraid to do with various things in my past... but I can't. Gotta keep look forward, never back.. And remember my favorite saying " Wherever you go... there you are" BTW... Freakin LOVE this song!!!! Steve 53 yrs. young!

There is nothing that will heal that wound I despise when people say time heals all wounds. It just gets easier to smile instead of cry when you think about them. But I am 44 the person I was the closest to my grandma passed when I was 15. Every year I still go have a drink with her on her birthday. I used to smoke a cigarette for her too but I quit a few years ago which I know she'd be happy about. But I always make sure to grab one from a friend who still does and leave it there for her.

This song came out when I was in high school. I wasn’t one of those teens who consistently said “I can’t wait to grow up,” but my mom would still sing the chorus to me at random times, especially my senior year. So incredibly ironic, your name, that is... it's my baby's name although he always hates when I call him that since he just graduated himself... he's my youngest & all of my children, the 3 of them, will always be my babies, no matter how old they are. I do miss when I was in high school, when I was a young mother, & wished I could grow up fast, which I did! Now, I'm staring at my 60's, wondering where the time went! Take it as slow as you possibly can, Justin. I know what I'm talking about.

Looking back over the years to all the people I’ve known and loved. This song contains such a lesson. You truly are gonna miss this when it’s gone. I wish I could go back in time to hug everyone of the people that I called friends. Some are gone now, most I’ll likely never see again and damn that makes me sad. Live every moment that you can. When I graduated highschool 5 years ago, I was thanking God that it was finally over. To this day, I still have dreams at night where I'm back in school, with all of my old friends, no "real" responsibilities... and then I wake up, and I remember that it's all gone. I know high school may seem hard right now, maybe annoying, maybe stressful. But the good moments that you're having there are the ones that you will remember for the rest of your life. And, eventually, you'll wish that you could go back to those days, because those happy times will never come back, no matter how hard you try to recreate them.

I just came from Eric Stonestreet’s Instagram post because I had forgotten about this song and I instantly got chills and started tearing up. This song reminds me of sitting on my old best friend’s couch. She was so good to me. We were young and didn’t have jobs yet and just hung out all day and night and gabbed for hours and bonded. Fast forward about 7 years, We no longer speak. And I def do “miss this”. I miss her. I remember her singing it to me and telling me this song will always remind her of me. At the time of the video being made in 2007. Trace had 5-6 children. One was 6, the others were 3 and 9 from the second marriage and 24 and 22 from the first. Non even match the age of 36 or 23.

You will never know how poignant the words to this song truly are . When I heard this song I thought about every single time I said: "when am I gonna be old enough" We tend to think life as a child is filled with "when I get older". Well fast forward to being a mother to an 18 old daughter who repeated the very words I did. We listened to this song a thousand times together, and on what would turn out to be our last Trip together before she passed away at the age 26, on October 29 2014, at her going home service it was me saying "I wish it all hadn't gone so fast". Mr Trace Adkins, this song was meant just for me.

Already at 0:19 I wish I could go back and show myself how great I had it and how much of a struggle life can be as an adult. Kids think once they're 18, they're on top of the world but they (including myself) unknowingly take it all for granted. My advice as a 25 year old now, show your parents the respect they deserve and give thanks to the life they provided you. As Trace said, YOU'RE GONNA MISS THIS.

This was one of my favorite songs way back in the days it was first out and popular. Some things, yes, I miss them . But so many I am so grateful to have gotten through and moved on to better ways and ideas for survival. would not have missed those days but don't want to relive or think about anymore than absolutely necessary. Live one day at a time to its fullest and then move on to next Adventure in life.

one thing you should think of when listening to this song is the past. I think of all the great times I've had with my grandparents, and they're 70 and 73 but when you think about it they're not to long before they go into the great place in the sky. So all I say is make sure you spend the most time you can with the one's you love.

Good luck with life, young man. Don't kill anyone you don't have to and try to have a garden/farm put together before you are too old to keep it worked and you'll do fine. Also, I think it's because we as a species used to spend huge amounts of time not thinking about the time. Now with the persistent entertainment addiction, everything including our 'relax time' is broken up into tiny segments of time that we can notice. Heck, this song was almost four minutes. I notice that because I had to look. If all I cared about was the autumns harvest and making sure I had enough apple brandy distilled to last the winter, my time would seem to last forever. I dunno where I am going with this. I hate city life blah blah blah misanthrope 4 lyfe etc. :]

This is what I call my Daughter's song, (she knows it). It reminds me of her growing up, she's 27 now, but the last verse rocks me. I'm a tradesman myself (Electrician) with "Two babies of my own, one's 36, one's 23". When one is 36, the other will be 23. 13 years apart, the exact same day, two different mothers.
