Im a young dad of 2 girls. Aged 2 and 3. Lost my wife. The mother of my 2 girls in a car accident last year.. Tuff gig.. scared and depressed and not knowing a thing about raising kids like mum was. Fathers treasure the hearts of our mothers. Its hard. Harder then work. And if ur alone dads raising kids are feeling like a failing dad. Be a true man and step up to be a winner. Coz there aint no bigger accomplishment in life then looking after your own.

There was never a "no you can't.". it was more " here let me show you " I can't express how thankful I am too my dad and grandfather... I was raised by two country gentlemen 💚

You don't even have to take your girl fishing. Just spend time with her, listen to her, and treat her mom right so she grows up knowing how a woman deserves to be treated. Dad's, we are the first man our girls fall in love with. They deserve our best and our everything.

I hear what your saying, but doing things is how many us men communicate. Many don't and that's fine which goes without saying. Further more taking them out of phones and people to just do something simple is a priceless lesson, especially now adays.

I took my 11 and 13 year old daughters to the Phillies game last night. I just sat back and watched them cheering, dancing and yelling for the team. Trust me when I say, it wasn't about the game. It was the memories.

I have 3 little girls age 9,7 and 4. I take them all fishing at least 2 times each summer so their mom can have a "moms day off". I cherish those moments. Time goes by way too fast!

Jason, You still need one more, if you want a complete set of four; My "little girls are now 21, 19, 17 and 15 respective. I often long for those days when they were in the same age range as your girls are now; it seems so long ago now.

my father and i spent a lot of hours fishing - well, i caught fish. he just got tires, cans, but never fish. i always wondered why he would want to go when he never caught fish. he's been gone for 7 years, and i still cry when i think about those times. thank you, dad.

When I hear this song I am remembered by a moment of a day I went hiking at a public park. I was there to just soak up the sun and air. I spotted a dad with his son and infant in a stroller. The dad was fishing with his young son, who couldn't be more than 10 years old. He was yelling at his son how he was doing everything wrong. I felt so sad. Not wanting to get into his business, but having a desire to say something to the dad. I walked up to them in the midst of the dad's anger and the son's nervous energy to just please his dad. I mentioned to the dad how it was great he was fishing with his kid and how I had memories of fishing with my dad. It wasn't about the perfection. It was about creating memories. Because the days pass on. One day your son won't care about these types of moments. Not sure if it meant anything to him. I could have only hoped he realized this was time to love one another and not create scars.

***** I know parents get stressed. Sometimes it cannot be helped in a moment. But what you can do which will make a lasting impression is to apologize. Just tell them you are sorry. LIttle kids soak up love and anger. And they stuff it down inside. So you go to them and say ... the other day when I yelled at you in the car, well, that wasn't fair and I'm sorry. How did I make you feel? Can you forgive me little guy? It will teach your children what to do when they lose their temper and need to find closure. It will also strengthen your mutual respect and actually help you to keep a watch on yelling; especially when you have to say sorry. I'm sure you are a great parent. Keep doing your best.

I took my almost 4 year old daughter fishing at a small lake last weekend ... She landed 3 small blue gills and she loved it. The next morning all she wanted to do is go fishing so we went out again and this time she caught 4 little fish with her pink barbie rod. She's hooked hah! I think i will have me a fishing buddy for a while hopefully. I play this song and tell her jokingly this will be our father daughter dance song at her wedding one day 😂 i love making memories with her! Time flies!
