I'm not being flippant at all with this next comment. I actually understand and appreciate the bed after hearing her talk about it herself. But, what if those guys actually believed the piece was interactive. A lot of conceptual art can be. It can also have a meaning based, at least in some way, on how the audience interpret it. And it did get more publicity.
