@@andyr2203 only one kind of person talks about “Westminster.” Scotland’s devolved powers are greater than Canadian states. You have the power to change tax rates, write your own laws, bring in new benefits. Yet the SNP doesn’t because if Scotland succeeded under devolution then their entire project of breaking up the UK would fail. Their aim is to create enough discontent that independence seems like the only solution. If that isn’t the most corrupt thing you’ve ever heard then I don’t know what is.

Absolutely love Tracey, have done since "Three of a kind" back in the 80s. Such a gifted mimic and much underrated singer. Her "Daily Mail/Express/Murdoch publication" readership re-imagining of Nicola Sturgeon as a Bond villain is painfully on point. Love it. And the fact that the REAL "Wee Sottish Terrier, Mhairi Black" laughs along WITH us completely proves the point of the characterisation. Perfect comedy and satire.

Actually not far from the truth. I've seen nationalists come up with statements like 'Scotland is second only to Ancient Greece in it's contribution to civilisation'. Before the referendum, Salmond basically claimed that Europe needed Scotland to 'keep it's lights on' as well.

Besides on the top of my head I said 7 but wasn't too sure about Earl of Rosebery and Alec-Douglas Home, from research I discovered they were also Scottish. The SNP would deny they were Scottish, because they were aristocratic. Scotland like the rest of Europe has or had a aristocracy, even France had an aristocracy after 1789.

Re the comment made by the other contributor "but I feel they will be a huge loss to the UK", why would that be the case? We could have our own parliament and would be better off financially. If the dream evaporates as the standard of living drops in Scotland and thousands relocate to live in England, the SNP won't be around to pick up the pieces, It will be the City banks that will have to bail them out again , like the last time. They will only be able to look on, seeing the bounty of wealth the rest of the UK is enjoying from leaving the EEC, only then, they will be wanting to rejoin us!
