If you enable images as plane addon. When you import transparent object like tree it automatically setups the shader correctly with alpha etc. Pretty useful to save time. The import images as plane addon has improved massively over 2.7 version of blender. It will also change blend mode to alpha blend automatically.

LilSki your videos are great ! I think once I get some time I'll do the same types of tutorials but for 3ds Max as there are some little different subtleties between both 3d programs (unless you're also a 3dsmax guru and can do the tutorials for that program). Blender does seem to have an easier type of approach though when it comes to track making. Anyway, I really like the way you do your tutos, kudos!

No I haven't used 3DS in many years other than for basic stuff like converting files. Too buggy of a platform for me and way too expensive. Blender being free, stable, and starts in 3 seconds were the main reasons I decided to learn it.
