As Gan-san said, the capability of tires probably contributes to the results of this battle. RX-7 RS had latter tires than the others.

japanese motoring was/is the best. i watch an american show on the rare and beautiful jag xjr-15 and it was mostly jay leno running his big mouth and they hardly drove it. japanese coverage of the same car they gave stats and data and drag raced it against a f550. most the time americans are just too in love with the sound of their own voice when all i really care about are the cars.

I feel most of western car media is like this: more talking than actual driving, silly drifts, unnecessary cinematics and unfunny jokes but no proper evaluation, no detailed review of e.g. car dynamics. The only thing they talk about is the obvious stuff anyone can look up on google in .5 secs. Really makes me appreciate BM.

Every time I watch these races on this channel and best motoring one thing is certain the RX7 always wins and the nsx comes second sometimes first. And the supra GTR and Impreza are always last

Yeah weight is pretty important. The RS Evos also tend to do well in these old Best Motoring videos. Imprezas started winning when the Spec-C was released, but earlier versions just had way too much understeer.

No surprise for the supra being next to last though. Jdm market had a weaker motor than the rest of the world and did not handle great. Its strictly a tourer so ofcourse it gets whipped in these comparos.

I don't think the RX-7 should have beaten Gan-san's NSX. No idea what they were saying at the end. But, Gan-san looked displeased (he usually runs the NSX it seems, takes a lead off the start, and keeps it...). The RX-7 got the lead and kept building. The RX-7 driver was giddy, looked like rubbing it in. Victory for the underdog this day.

If the twin turbo Supra was tuned for what it was design for gt touring car racing it would easily beat what ever is out there. Instead it's got low boost street tune. The Supra was originally design to put down over 400 hp to the wheels on track. The only difference between the street Supra and track Supra is suspension and tires. The engine is what it used in racing

@@zeeks4338 I think for the case of the Lambo challenge, in the UK, they made evos in the FQ series. Jeremy Clarkson challenged a Murcielago (driven by James Kaye) while he drove a 8 FQ400. Tight track and the Lambo couldn't shake him off his tail.

@@spankthemonkey3437 nope. Ive been watching best motoring for a long time. Stop being a fanboy. The mk4 supra was not great. The NSX, GTR, RX7, EVO were always ahead. The mk4 stayed the same up until it got axed. Other than vvti, there were no major improvement. The 300ZX TT was the direct competitor to the Supra.

Well, that Honda NSX Type S is better than the standard NSX, still the RX-7 Type RS is something like NSX-R, so the Type S can´t stand a chance. Anyway good battle :) That overspeeds by EVO tho :D
