Track Saw Track Traction Strips

Ex badminton player here. When our very sticky rubber soles were not sticking as good as we liked, we used a damp towel to rub the soles. Felt like they were brand new again. If your traction strips slide easily, it's mostly caused by dust and particles on the surface, just vacuum, then use a damp rag to go over them. Another comment here is to put masking tape on it, press hard, and remove it - which seems to make a lot of sense also. Cheers!

So instead of buying a whole track saw n rail system i can simply just buy the tape n attach it to a straight edge. Thank u

I bought the bora clamp that lets you attach your saw to it kind of like a tracksaw. But I ditched the clamps and attached a small rubber gasket on both edges of the bottom and now (hopefully) it won't slide anymore

A periodic maintenance tip - Apply painters tape to the traction strips, then peal if off to remove built-up sawdust. It works great.

I have a DIY track saw made out of plywood. Could I attach this to the bottom of the plywood to make it anti-slip? Where do I buy this anti-slip foam tape?

Yes you could, you can get it anywhere you can buy Festool tools.

@@thebuilditchannel8609 Thanks, I’ll look into it. I haven’t seen anyone using non-slip tape on their DIY track saws. Can’t believe no one’s thought to use this or maybe it’s not feasible?

I just put some little gaskets on the bottom of my bora saw guide so I don't have to clamp it anymore! But maybe I should buy the actual festool non slip stuff instead

Don't use mineral spirits in applications where something is going to be adhereed to the cleaned surface, as it can leave residue. This will weaken the adhesion. Use something like acetone or if you're really fancy MEK

I spray Boshield T-9 on top and that helps a lot.
