After riding the standard 2020 Suzuki GSX-R1000R on track, I wanted to try to make it feel more like my GSX-RR MotoGP race bike. So I changed the setup and went back on track to test it.
Can't stress this enough, check your tire pressures when you go on track. It's the most important thing you can do. More grip, safer riding, better tire life = more fun!

I have NEVER seen anyone, not a journalist or racer, produce such excellent suspension and tire pressure content. The only other guy has been a Brit named Dave Moss.

The reason that I asked some questions and wanted some answers or mere clarification was for the benefit of all riders understanding Sylvains wide experience of racing and track ways. I want bikers from all walks of life and riding all types of bikes to be safe not only on the track. Nothing wrong with that is there. I was merely seeking advice from an experienced track rider but not an advanced rider which is something that he would never purport to be. I didn't make any negative comments about his track riding but mainly questioned at times to his positioning on the road going to and from a track day . A few years ago Chaz Davies undertook a few days riding experience with advanced riders and he said that he enjoyed it and gained a lot of road riding experience and knowledge that he did not have before,. We can all learn from each other.

@@SylvainGuintoli if you use super corsa or slick you have much more edge grip, then super stock rider is slow. I learned a lot from Troy corser, and he rode my bike on cartagena with full slicks and ohlins suspension, he was 2 sec off of the track record due to stiff suspension (I weigh 20kg more as Troy) but I learned that time is made under early acceleration and not under braking) Keep it up Sylvain, nice vids to watch 👍🏼🙏🏼

Great video! I don't think we have many World Champions making videos about our favourite sport,so keep them coming!Just a couple of things about the tires. This bike is equipped with the RS11(Racing Street) tires, not the R11s and they are the successor to the RS10s,the flagship tires of BATTLAX street application line up.So they are road focused tires unlike the R11s which are designed specifically for track use. That means that they have different pressure recommendations for track use.The RS10 Front 1.9bar COLD and the 190/55 Rear 1.8bar COLD for track use,so i believe the RS11 which is it's successor should be close to this range. The R11 Front 2.25bar HOT and the 190/55 Rear 1.75bar HOT.Looks like you are using the R11's recommended pressures for the RS11s.Just something to consider.

Sylvain could you please make a video on riding basics from toe to head. How to use one's body while riding. How to hold on the bike While cornering how to keep weight off the handle bars . how to use legs to anchor on the bike . Do you use only one leg to hold on depending on the corner. By using your heel and ankle to lock onn from the foot peg, thigh resting on the center of the tank and the leg which is facing the corner has very little weight put on it . And the upper part of the body is held up using core muscles and near zero weight on the bars . Please could you show how do you do it. And do you use only engine breaking to lean into a corner . Or how do you even lean so much without crashing or freaking out . How do you sense grip at high lean angle . Could you show this using your telemetry and explain in slow motion .

Great video. I love that Sylvain rides on UK roads. I met Cal Crutchlow at a film premier and asked him about his road riding. He looked at me like I was crazy and said it was too dangerous to ride on the road. Thanks Cal! Unfortunately 99% of your supporters have to ride on the road. Could we see the lap time difference between standard and the changes or how far out was the fastest lap from a race bike time after the changes?
