Great tips! I’m personally a long distance runner and hate the track but know I need to use what it offers😂

Yes same here, I have to do track whether I like it or not haha, definitely helps with my long distance running though 🏃🏾😅 what do you run?

Congrats on crushing that workout. Very impressive splits and it sounded like there was some wind. So dessert before the workout and dinner afterwards? Lots of food! Great job.

Yes definitely, dessert was really nice before the workout. Most probably not the most effective but I couldn't turn down a carrot cake. That was a really good workout, it makes you go at faster speeds that you're normally not used too 👍🏽

Great job! I started running 8 months ago and managed to run a 2:46 marathon a few weeks ago. Aiming to run a sub 2:30 marathon by the end of the year. I suck at shorter distances though- if I was doing this workout my 1k times would be around 3:20, maybe even 3:25. Could you please say what you think would help me get from 3:20-3:25 to 3:00? If I want to run that sub 2:30 marathon I should probably also be able to run a sub 16:00 5k or sth like that.

Thanks a lot, that is very impressive! What did you do to get that time, very interested to know. From what I have done and my experience, just keep running but involve more intense workouts such as more tempo runs and incorporate track type sessions, would be my best tip. Will be doing a video soon of how to get faster, so stay tuned 👍🏽

@@ugzruns Thanks for the answer! So it took me about 6 months to get from someone who's never run before to a 2:46 marathon runner. I've done some long distance walks in the past though (like really long walks), so that probably helped a bit. As for those 6 months- it was basically a mix of everything. I was doing lots of intervals, lots of tempo runs, lots of long runs, as well as lots of easy runs. And I was really focused on high mileage- my weekly average was around 160-170k. I'd say the workout that I found most beneficial was progressive long run. I have to admit that the training plan I created looked a bit crazy to say the least, but it worked perfectly for me. Recovery was the key and it definitely helped that I wasn't working at the time. Btw, gonna have to start going to work again soon and my recovery is going to suck :/ Maybe I should consider starting a youtube channel and trying to earn some money this way.. Anyway, looking forward to that video!
