What do you mean? A video summarizing the premise of the set? Probably because this is so overly written into being a story more than ever (feels like clue), so it wouldn't really click/work if it wasn't as forced and over explained as it is. I see some people complaining that they already reveal the culprit in the video. But it feels like this isn't quite the full story yet. What happened to Agrus Kos? And why was Aurelia targeted? Because as far as I know she did nothing wrong during the Phyrexian invasion. Maybe the dryad isn't the true culprit. Or at least not the only one.

That I agree with. To me, she is colluding with rakdos in some fashion; there was a different set of plants that had an effect that seems to be of pacifism, but I think it's really to allow ol' jester horns to keep tabs on the going-ons at Vitu-Ghazi. I've a hunch that the case is not over yet.

This could also be a fantastic D&D adventure for the Ravnica setting. There are so many characters that could be the actual killer. With only a small tweak, the adventure could end with any of them as the final villain similar to Waterdeep: Dragon Heist. would not be surprised if this ended up being a D&D product.

4:10 that's not how blocking works tho, is it? If a creature is declared to be blocking that creature, then it remains blocked even after it de-disguises and gains flying. It won't "fly over" anything; it remains blocked. It even has the same toughness, so if your opponent blocked with lethal power, it'll still die, because the block was legal to begin with, so the damage from the blocker is still dealt to your creature. It's good for killing an x/4 i guess, but this is a terrible example of when you'd wanna use this ability.

I certainly wasn't expecting Zoetic Cavern to be power crept. I've always liked Zoetic Cavern. I've been interested in making it work for some time now and have mostly failed. In the late game, it's a land you can cast as an underwhelming creature if you're already flooded. In the midgame, if you have nothing else to do with your mana, you can pay 5 mana to essentially ramp. That's all you can do with it. I wonder if Branch of Vitu-Ghazi can actually do anything more interesting than that as an almost strictly better Zoetic Cavern.

This is how you do it. Really enjoying the story and I'm 10:23 in. A fine yellow residue in powder form and a suspect who is confused after visiting a flower shop.... sounds like the culprit will be golgari seeing as they dabble in life as well as death. My bet is on Dina, Baba Lysaga, Izoni, or Meren. Would be great to see Grismold and Willowdusk but they are more unlikely I suppose... Edit: I really had ruled out a Selesnya culprit and the fur is not explained. Great fun though and I look forward to this set :)

It's great that you tried to create a story and deliver it in an interesting way, but the delivery of the conclusion felt weak and to short. That trostani did it for a noble cause felt wrong and that she acted alone too. It would have been cool if the story wouldn't have been released at once and it would have been perfect for small video series. I still enjoyed it overall and hope to see more of the stories in the world of MTG. Also RIP Teysa, one of my favorite characters in the 13 years I have been playing (killing popular characters like her is the right choice, because it feels way more like there are high stakes in the story, don't just unphyrexianise them) .

The only bad thing is that in order to keep things consistent, face-down cards are still 2/2s for 3, a really bad rate nowadays even with ward 2 since they can't participate in battle so disguise cards must me strong enough to be worth the investment, let's hope that is the case this time.

How does the cloak ability work on etrata work? I assume you get the card you cloak from your opponents deck but it doesnt explicitly say that on cloak reminder text or her text.

If she connects damage, you exile the top card of the oponent deck and put It face down under your Control as a creature 2/2, then you can pay bu+2, and If It ia a permanente, It stays under your Control, and If It is an instant or sorcery, you play the card without paying the cost

A cloaked card is also probably "disguised" so the 2/2 creature you get will likely have ward 2. (This is also a way to make face up morph creatures better when you pit them back down through cloak)

One thing doesn't add up here, and i'm struggling to find a line that works. Most of the people targeted were targeted for being involved with phyrexia in some way. Completely unexplained is why Aurelia was targeted. just a way to deflect from the case, knowing that would lead to a war? i'm also concerned that Teysa had phyrexian script in the first place, since phyrexia itself is still lost in time, as i understand it.

My best guess at this point is that Aurelia was targeted by an assassin that wouldn't be able to down her, specifically to get Aurelia to attack rakdos. Once that war starts, it's likely difficult for anyone to prove what happened.

Cloak is a new mechanic with roots in Manifest: If you're instructed to cloak a card, put that card onto the battlefield face down. It's a 2/2 colorless creature with no name and no creature types. I am here from the future to warn you that this debut video for the murder mystery set does indeed spoil the entire murder mystery you were supposed to figure out from the cards they hadn't fully revealed yet. Then they tried to bait the negative attention away with the promise of a new epilogue that would end up adding essentially nothing really relevant to the story; it just got everyone to stop complaining about the whole story being spoiled long enough for the general ire to fall away with time and not actually change anything.
