I show you how to properly modify and track your car with Apple AirTags. Apple AirTags are wonderful tracking devices that can stick to anything to track. Tracking your car is another security measure, where you can track your car in the event of theft. In order to thwart these car thieves, you need to modify your AirTags so they cannot chime your AirTag, find it, and remove it from your car. I will show you step by step how to modify your AirTag to remove the speaker and install your Apple AirTag in your car!

The design of the speaker that is very easy to remove has a specific purpose from the manufacturer Apple. Apple is a large company that is very careful in releasing products that could be misused. By removing the speaker, it means we are consciously taking responsibility for using the device for whatever purpose, thus Apple is freed from accusations of creating a device that is misused.

IOTW just simply looking at Find My Phone App and seeing where it currently is? Ive noticed that the Air tags are very slow at updating locations... so to speed that process up, we enable LOST mode, but then the speaker will activate giving the thieves a heads up there is an Airtag on the item which could encourage them to start looking for the hidden airtag...

I agree it’s not easy to remove but if you watch video and use that tiny silver dot thing as reference it’s possible. Had to use razor to pop off and used needle to remove speaker to avoid damage anything around the speaker. And my airtag still works!! 🎉🎉🎉🚙

There is no distance limit. It acts as a beacon that Apple devices pickup and report back. For example, someone walking by your car with their iPhone in their pocket would report the location of the tag to apples servers. The tag can be tracked to any location so long as an apple device eventually passes by it and reports its location.

@@agent47107 no. That’s just how these devices work. They don’t have a data connection or GPS. They just emit a signal and Apple devices pickup on it and know how far away it is then report the location using their own GPS to Apple servers. AirTags are only useful in countries with large amounts of Apple devices. If you lived in the US and hid an AirTag in your car and it was stolen, you could watch as it is being transported to a boat and watch as it sails across to Africa or India or somewhere like that where it will then disappear because iPhones aren’t as popular there. You’d only see it again once an iPhone user walks by it

I had my car stolen 3 days ago, I had an airtag in the car, but the thief didn’t have an iphone, so I didn’t get a notification until 10am 4 hours after it was near another apple device at 6am, by then they already left and I didn’t get another notification until 7pm, got the car back but they had already spray painted half of it.
