Great video as always Rob. My great grandfather was one of the signatories for the Beenleigh school. His farm was as Sandy Creek, Yatala. Grew cotton then arrowroot and was also a wheelwright. James Henderson was one of the earliest burials in the cemetery. You walked past his grave.He was killed when his wagon rolled taking supplies to his farm located where the winery is, Canungra turnoff, Beenleigh - Beaudesert road.

I don't live far from carter park and never knew it had a name and never realized there had been a ferry there all those years ago. It is a nice footbridge there but a pity it wasn't a little wider and cars could actually use it. It does flood over even with how high it is. Fascinating as usual. Thank you.

Yes, you would be correct, they're moving Beenleigh station back to its original spot, but with 2 extra platforms, so 4 platforms all up. Great video as always, when you said that was all, I got sad. I could've watched atleast another 15 minutes of this!!

Thank you for such an informative video, Rob. I've lived in the Beenleigh area for 25 years and love learning about the area. Any idea when Wharf Street in Eagleby was renamed Ramu Street? We lived at Windaroo and walked down to the footbridge often. Who would have thought the events that would unfold the following day the bridge opened? My wife's family ran the Sundowner Hotel back in the late 1970s and have been locals for the past 45+ years. I think Lee Court at Windaroo is the remnants of the old Windaroo Rd. That's now fragmented with bits coming off Wuraga Road. Come down and do Tamborine Village, there's so much more here than meets the eye.
@walkaboutwithrob4 ай бұрын
@doncoleman4938 Yes, Lee Court is part of the old Windaroo Road. Does your wife and or her family have any photos of the time when they were running the Sundowner Home?
