Tulum (Bird Cage), Ginnie (Devil’s System, Wes Skiles (Peacock), Merritt’s Mill Pond (Jackson Blue, Hole, and Twin). You have the best diving channel on KZbin hands down. Your Nohoch (Bird Cage) video is what made us spend 10 days in Tulum. We just had to experience the Bird Cage for ourselves. It was amazing. Today we made the Peacock 1 to Olsen sink traverse. We love that dive. Tomorrow, the Devil’s system. P.S. We are both laughing about Scaff’s and the Peacock system. We were like, what??? 😂

Awesome that you got certified, always keep that curious and exploratory spirit! The part of the cave where they encountered the murky water was actually probably a section of the Nicholson tunnel that tends to retain tannic water from the river, which is very interested for its own set of geophysical reasons even though it’s not related to nitrate pollution (definitely a huge problem in the area). Unfortunately it seems the majority of the surface filming fir this episode was just fake, the cave system at peacock does pass under one road (although not in the area this was filmed) but it seems they took some major artistic liberties to better illustrate their point.

Great job. Would love to see a map of where the aquifer went on a road map or a satellite map that shows the businesses it went under. You know the whole route. That would be cool to see. Thanks for doing this one. You made a great point about the cow waste in relationship to the murkiness of the water underneath. So basically if the farm house had a well that tapped into that aquifer it would be unhealthy to drink because it would be contaminated

I'm so glad you brought up ground water contamination. As essential as agriculture is to our society, there are also many negative consequences from how farming is done today. Another major source of water pollution is the fertilizers and pesticides that people put on their yard. Both sources can pollute groundwater as well as enter surface waters and cause significant environmental degradation such as the massive dead zone in the Gulf of Mexico or all along the east coast. One farm may not cause much pollution, but thousands of acres of farm can cause significant pollution that impacts the livelihoods of people downstream

@@BlueWorldTV If this is true, it's actually a pretty big blow to me to learn this. I've watched a lot of this series, and came to trust it as educational and factual. I understand inconsequential stylistic augmentations to truth for production value such as foley sounds. It'd be cool if you could combine the bearing and depth information from your dive computer, then all you would need is a way to measure distance and you could use software to visualize a path. I am curious which cave system put you under one of the Scaffs? I know Peacock and Little River don't go anywhere close to it. Anyways I love the Peanut line after you get past Crossover, it is much more pristine than much of the rest of the Peacock mainlines. And Waterhole is an amazing line to jump to, love the vertical oriented passages that show the rock layers. I see the COVID signs, and the yellow warning tape. So I am guessing late 2020. Was it during the trip where Zach got cavern certified? Who did you borrow the locator gear from?
