What the difference between poachers shooting an elephant and Gerry shooting an elephant ? Apart from the $1000s of dollars paid to a hunting company . Im not against hunting but why shoot elephants .

Country and communities earn money and meat in a controlled manner - not to mention its contribution to conservation. Poaching isn't controlled and doesn't respect quotas or good dispatching/hunting practices and doesn't bring in the finance like hunting. There are alos too many elephants in Zim which national parks sometimes even have to cull.

Something to add is the money from these hunts often goes to conservation efforts. Also, old bulls who have grown their last set of molars are what they are after. They have passed on their genetics and only look forward to starving to death after their last set of molars have worn out. The meat usually goes to tribes/families who need it. Elephants are also very destructive to the habitats they live in and population control is necessary to make sure these habitats are flourishing and available for other species of animals to thrive.

U men seem nice enough, but WHY stress these elephants out!!!! catch and release. makes no sense. The little freedom lions elephants gorillas have left STILL have to be imposed on bu man when unnecessary and stressful for the animals. Please stop!! live and let live
