Thanks for all your work for the horses. So interesting with the clear camera work and drones. Concerning about the foals. Awwww. Love that little foal collapsing so neatly. ❤️ Boys at the end and their little group of blackbirds ❤️❤️

I was sharing with my daughter and son in law about how much I enjoy your channel and the beautiful horses that run free in Alberta. She told me that there is roundup of the horses there periodically and they are slaughtered and the meat is send to Japan. How tragic.

Beautiful video. Love to see the wildies from close up. Sad to hear that they lose their babies at young age. Maybe I missed it, but are they lost to bears, wolves, mountain lion? I have seen all these 3 big omnivores/carnivores in your videos. Keep doing what you do and great to distribute the salt blocks a bit. They work like a magnet and all the animals will know where they are not just the horses.

Bless you. You have an absolute magic with these beautiful horses. Is it predators getting the foals?

Thank you so much for these beautiful videos and your efforts to educate people regarding their current situation. I live in the US and it’s horrible the round ups our government does but from my limited knowledge what Canada is doing to your wild horses is even more appalling. Please know many of us appreciate all your efforts.

It´s sad to know that so much foals aren´t making it and it´s concerening. you are right! There will always be people, who make bad comments and not thinking it through! You are doing great, and I hope, your channel is growing more and more to bring awareness to this!!

What has haws done to keep the horses wild? when they meet with the gov. do they bring other groups with them who have the same #1 priority,NO. Do they recommend that all the followers boycott beef products? NO I asked haws the same questions and was banned from the FB site. They could not handle the truth.

My guess is the wolves and bears are eating the foals.

Yes, information is key !! It’s sad but the truth. And hopefully a law maker will see one of these videos and do something about the amount of wolves ! In the UP of Michigan where my parents live there is no fawns for this exact reason ! And if they attack your dog you still can’t. Baloney! If something comes at my animals they are toast !

Could the foals being lost be due to predators.

Could it be a mineral deficiency? In the Pacific Northwest in America, selenium is lacking in the soil, though your salt stations look like you provide supplemented mineralized salt. A necropsy probably be helpful but I know that would be near impossible. Having blood analyzed from the rescue babies within hours of rescue? I know there could be a whole lost of issues but while it may not prove a cause, it would help rule out other issues. You do good work.

I see the predation of the foals as part of the natural process. The real question might be is the wild horse population stable?

Whatever happened to that bay stallion who had a badly broken leg you’d see on the cams from time to time? Can’t remember his name, but he seemed to get around decently despite it being so severe. It’s been a while back so I assume he finally succumbed to the injury. He was how I happened upon the channel is why I ask.

Do foals in larger bands have a better survival rate because of more stallion protection?

But why don’t they make it? Is it predators or they just starve to death?

Looks to me as if there is enough horses. Horses actually were introduced by Spaniers. They are not native to this continent.

The Conquistadors introduced the horse to the Americas. The horse cultures on the prairie were just a few hundred years old max. Prior to that they had lived in the woods. No Conquistadors no prairies tribes hunting buffalo.
