Great review. Club head data on foresight units will usually be a little faster than trackman due to the way each measure. Foresight measures pre-impact while Trackman measures club head speed at full compression. Obviously, at full compression it’ll be a bit slower.

Indoors absolutely would go with gc3. Trackman I think would be better for golf instruction because of all the integrated cameras for swing video ect. If you're #1 goal is accurate data it's gc3 for sure. Trackman at high ball speeds indoors is terrible and never accounts for gear affect.

I think the club data difference is because of the way both collect the information. Trackman is using radar and GC3 is using high speed photos. Trackman would be more inaccurate because the GC3 has its camera pointed right at the club face with the 5 reference dots where the Trackman is looking at the back of the club from 6 feet behind impact. Also Trackman uses high speed photos to calibrate and adjust data for accuracy but they sell a radar based launch monitor. I'm wondering why Trackman doesn't sell both because they have both technologies.

AOA is measured differently between systems. TM before impact and GC3 at impact based on other components like spin. You didn’t mention anything about spin axis on the units. Did you see any difference ?

You keep saying GC3 is a radar but I think you mean- launch monitor. GC3 is camera based launch monitor and Trackman is a radar based launch monitor.

Great video! I would say attack angle and club speed is better with the GC3 and i use both as well , Spin on those TOE and HEEL shots Trackman is simply not good indoors in my experience , but to me indoor or outdoor im going with Foresight every time over Trackman and so do the best fitters in the world. I am a Trackman user and professional instructor and I am still confused on why Trackman is the "gold standard" lol I have since switched to Foresight for all my instruction and wont look back , If you are fitting clubs there is absolutely no comparison for club head data. Sorry not relevant for your video since you are using GC3 , but the GC3 for your average golfer is the clear choice it is accurate and over 5 years is gonna save you a enough money to buy a new car lol GREAT VIDEO , thanks for putting this out there!

Hi , I own a TM4, and having the same concerns, when asking TM, they say it is better as the face is measured from the side. I am just going to build a new fitting room as I do fitting as well and so only using "indoors" and am contemplating going to a "camera based unit" as well. Just looking at costs$$$ to change over. Txg did the same test but with the Quad vs Trackman. If i remeber correctly spin was the biggest difference. I think as long as you dont get huge discrepancies on good strikes ie numbers vary greatly between every shot, then you can create good consistent and useful data so whichever system works for your needs ultimately be the one for you.
