In this video we're taking a look back at all the World Records that were achieved in Trackmania Nations Forever in 2019! What a crazy year it was, with 56 out of the games 65 tracks having a new world record on them, and 100+ world record improvements in total. Don't know who is familiar with SummoningSalt's "the Quest to beat Matt Turk" video, but I think a really cool video project would be following how each of the cheated WRs eventually got beaten legitimately (I don't follow much TNF so I don't know if it's even been fully done yet but hopefully we see it soon if not 🤞)! hey there! First of all, I really enjoy all the content of yours Ive watched so far. I recently got together with some old friends (some of them I havnt seen in 10+ years) and since we used to do a lot of LAN partying back in the day we decided to do a revival. Later in the evening we started this game since its free on steam and we actually used to play it a lot. It was an absolute blast, we played for like 4 hours straight, yelling and inching away at our times and we definately want to play more next time (maybe even a whole tournament). Could you suggest any map sets (which are easy enough noone will really practise at home except for me because I was last place most of the time :D) that are a lot of fun or are there even mods that would enhance our experience? Or would you suggest maybe even getting TM turbo since Ive heard its a really good singleplayer campaign, though TMN has the big advantage that you can play it on any old laptop. I really got hooked now, currently watching the TM turbo run from riolu and managed to get the first 120 medals in TMN pretty quickly. greetings from germany, Matt

Wow that's awesome to hear! I'd not really recommend picking up TM Turbo, because while it has a big campaign, nobody plays it. You are better off picking up Trackmania 2 Stadium if anything, but you can play TMNF for an eternity without running out of things to do. When it comes to maps, the campaign ones are a great introduction, but if you've played those and you're looking for something new I'd suggest going to TMX (tmnforever.tm-exchange.com/?action=tracksearch). At the bottom of the page click "Expand Options" and you can filter your search based on your parameters. Suggest filerting by Awards Most, as the most awarded maps are generally considered to be the best ones. Also suggest filtering by "Style", the main competitive ones are Tech, Fullspeed and Offroad. There's also RPG tracks, which can be a great experience to play with friends. RPG tracks are adventure/puzzle tracks, often with hard obstacles and precise jumps. Suggest trying some tech, fullspeed and offroad first, but if you want to play a RPG track together, then this would be a great track to start with: tmnforever.tm-exchange.com/main.aspx?action=trackshow&id=3135623#auto Hope that helps! Amazing to see that again a year after ! Especially your comments on D07, and tracks like E02 or D15 that got destroyed in 2020, and also seemingly maxed tracks that got beaten like A03, D03 or B04. 2020 has been an amazing year for TMNF world records, although ""only"" 39 have been beaten if I'm not mistaken. omfg these times are INSANE!! Ive been almost at the top 2011, but the skill these guys posses is out of this world! i Tried to drive A01 25min today and got .49 time as my best. That is over 1/2 second slower than WR! Ridiculous how you guys find those hundreds of a second here and there!!

Don't play TM much but the route found by the program on your WR sounds like a fun project :) That's a pretty clear cut graph theory problem with each checkpoint being a node, and possible next checkpoints as edges with average time from one to the other being their weighting. Then something like a program to run Dijykstra's algorithm on that graph should be able to find the right pathing.
