I should just point out that you can still work the way you did in logic by going to the mixer view and right clicking on the fader of any channels you want added to the track view and selecing "edit volume information". Thatll make the channel visible on track view.

I fully understand, since you are mixing in the S1 console. I mix in the arranger, always have and always will so the tracks/channel split thing is still a thorn in my side :) it's okay though, I have a template with standard busses and fx channels in the arrange window to start every song. But I do understand why it is advantages for those who like to use the console.

Please make a monthly subscription music production course in studio one for us studio one users and new beginners in music production. Its really frustrating for me, I have all the tools, expensive mics and full subscription to studio one yet I don't know how to use my tools. Am singer sing writer I sing and play the guitar but I can't produce. I don't understand how to use compression, eq, reverb, all those knobs make me run mad why isn't music production a click of a button 😢 sometimes I wish there were a full software where you record and throw water you have recorded and it edits, arranges, mix and masters for you.😢

The only downside is Folder tracks are not considered tracks when you export tracks in the Stem exporting windows.

I recently discovered your channel - you provide a fresh perspective to S1. Question... when you duplicated the drum channel - you said it didn't create another instance of the virtual instrument. I always thought it did - so for processing purposes tried to always keep [especially my drums] on just one track. Are you sure? I hope your are right.. I will look forward to revisiting this. Anyway - keep up the good work- you presentation style is very accessible.

Thank you! And yes I am right! Studio One is the only DAW that does this! When you duplicate the track, it just links that track to the same single virtual instrument! You can duplicate the VST and link the new track to the VST if you want tho!

Thank you soooooo much. When I program midi drums the editor can get so cluttered. Knowing I can separate fills etc from the basic beats without a second instance is huge

​@@ProducingInTheBox Reaper does this too FYI. If you've got a track containing midi routed to another track with a VST like Superior Drummer, if you duplicate the midi track it will preserve the routing to the track containing the instrument.
