This was great and informative, thanks so much! As to the presenter, I like that he isn't 30 anymore and is still allowed to go and travel the world and tell us about it and its wonders. Maybe I'm not picking you up right, but are you saying that Ireland (Republic of Ireland) is a jurisdiction and not a country? If that's what you're saying, then you're dead wrong

It's the Republic of Ireland, which, on top of it, is part of the European Union. and it's Northern Ireland, which is part of the United Kingdom and thus no longer in the EU. It's also, at this point, two closely related but distinctive cultures, as Protestantism, i.e. Scottish Presbyterian immigation (and Unionism) never meaningfully existed in what is now the Republic.
