Yes, it is possible. A sector editor comes with the game. See the publisher's forum for lots of discussion about creating your own sector. See the link to the forum in the description of the video above (it's at the bottom of the description).

Hi friend, how didi you do to make appears the SID and STAR? and It´s possible have VFR aircraft inbound to the aerodrome? Thank you for the Videos.

In the Tracon editor, click on your aircraft while holding down the CTRL button. The ALT button can be used in the same way, to see the distance of one aircraft from something, or to see if two aircraft will conflict.

we're in 2013 n we still dont have a radar game that added measuring distances with mouse... its the most important part of vectoring but as i see tracon 2012 couldnt haunt the similarity of atcsim2 which is really an old tracon simulator

Use the ALT button held down, while clicking on an aircraft.

Hey Mark, How do you enable arrivals/departures for multiple airports in the LAX sector? I seem to only be able to select one airport at a time
@flightlevel24032 жыл бұрын
In the main menu, there is a drop down option, which you must click and HOLD, until selecting the airport you want to set up. When finished, launch the game, and all selected airports will be used. Note that not all airports have automatic traffic programed in.

thank you for the excellent tutorials. Unfortunately I can not add waypoints like HUNDA or PALAC and other, as they are not found in the database. and if i add them in to the database.... the Coordinates that i see in the "aeronav charts" put the waypoint far away on the sector. is there any way to add a waypoint correctly ?

Well, it's not "my" sim -- the authors and publishers are feeThere software. Yes, it's possible to create your own area. It's a lot of work and research, but there is a sector editor included with the sim.

Would this game be a help to improve communication in real life with ATC for student pilots?
@markhargrove8 жыл бұрын
I don't know how I missed this question from a year ago, but if it's still relevant to you, I would say, "no, it wouldn't help" -- or at least, not very much. This particular simulation does NOT accurately simulate ATC phraseology. Some of it is correct, but quite a bit of it is not and that would lead you astray if you're studying to be a pilot. Instead, check out www.pilotedge.net. THAT service is, hands-down, the best way to learn how to communicate within the ATC environment.

Yes. There is an airspace editor.

hey question how did I set the yoke as the push to talk key? Ive been trying and trying to use that instead of the keyboard. Is there any way I can do it?
@markhargrove11 жыл бұрын
There are a handful of utilities available that can map control buttons to key presses, but I don't quite know why you'd be using a yoke for an Air Traffic Control simulation. Are you sure you posted this comment against the right video of mine? (It would make a lot more sense in the context of one of my PilotEdge tutorials).

Hi Mark I have been following this video which I find extremely helpful in learningabout ATC, You mention an asx file showing new waypoints and I wondered if you could possible send me a copy of this file which would be much appreciated. regards Brian
@markhargrove7 жыл бұрын
The company who makes the sim won't allow the .asx files to be sent around -- they consider them proprietary. I do have a video on YT that describes how to edit the sector file, as I recall. It's pretty straightforward and you can get the necessary lat/long coordinates from a site like airnav.com for any of the fixes or navaids.

Hi Mark. Your tutorials are very informative. I have been been viewing them to see if I want to buy the game. I have previously used ATC2 (Brad Davis) and really enjoyed it. The only difficulty I had was with the voice recognition interface, but after several months I was able to achieve about 95% recognition. So, my question for you is, "is voice recognition on Tracon!2012 as accurate as your tutorials make it appear? How long did it take you to "train" it to that degree of accuracy. Thanks.

I'm having 98% of accuracy with his SR with a headset of 10$.

Is this better than "Airport Madness"? Tracon 12' the original game or is this an expnsion pack.? If it's the expansion pack, what is the original game?
@markhargrove8 жыл бұрын
Airport Madness is a game -- Tracon 2012 is an ATC simulation. It's not an add-on, Tracon 2012 (from FeelThere software) is the original product. It's a little dated now -- if you're interested in ATC simulation I'd suggest you have a look at ATCPro, available through the Flight1 store.
@cilva7able8 жыл бұрын
+Mark Hargrove I went to that website and I noticed they have a lot of add on aircraft. Why would one pay for these when you can download aircraft for FSX free? Is there something differenct about these than the one you can download?
@markhargrove8 жыл бұрын
One of us is confused. :-) You originally asked about Airport Madness, an ATC "simulation" that is really just a game, in comparison to Tracon 2012, which is a serious air traffic control simulation. I was suggesting that "Tracon 2012" is a bit dated now and that if you were interested in a serious ATC simulation that you should check out ATCPro, which is available for sale through the Flight1.com website. That website sells LOTS of flight simulation-related products, including hundreds of add-on airplanes for FSX, P3D and X-Plane. Those have nothing to do with ATCPro. To answer your question, though: the payware add-on aircraft for any of the major flight simulators (FSX, P3D, X-Plane) are typically far superior to any of the available freeware add-on aircraft in terms of the modeling and textures, the flight dynamics, and the systems fidelity.
