Is it something to do with the rear spoiler, not coded correctly and it sees an error because it cannot lift as stock one? happened to me and ESP kept turning back on. Anyway, nice car!

@@PaulGIS yeah basically I’ve coded it out but if the tc doesn’t see the microswitch trigger, then it re-enables at 100mph, very annoying!

I think he said in a comment that it was a coding issue with the spoiler, at 70kph it was triggering the spoiler to uplift but as it was coded-out it wouldn’t, the ecu noticed it wasn’t up and triggered the tc again. My tts doesn’t trigger tc back on at all at even 70mph plus… although could’ve been altered by previous owner

Was so excited to finally a mk2 tts manual on the channel….. but disappointed to see the tc issue…. I’d love to see some sort of rerun! And were those mtec rotors? Look identical to mine and if so, that’s a pretty comforting advertisement to see they lasted a lap with misha 😂….. common misha! Get another mk2 manual tts…. You can gladly drive mine!(although we need to see that beauty back in all her glory)!

Had the same issue today when I went for a mountain run full send with my 400bhp Scirocco R, I had traction control off but it has still doing what the TTS was doing.. then turned ESC OFF and issue was resolved immediately

Im pretty sure with the MK2 if you disable the rear spoiler in VCDS the ESP automatically enables itself between 80-100MPH since it detects that the spoiler isnt up. Even with Quattro in my own TT the ESP drives me insane on the road and always gets switched off.

You need a dongle, if you remove the automatic spoiler. No dongle, a lot of problems. E.g. esp and tc

You can see how the swift can easily keep up to ~160 km/h, after that it runs out of short gears and the TT can catch up :D

Gearing is not the problem, the little turbo is - my (also yellow also tracktool) swift has peak power at around 3900 rpm

It's obvious why the ESP cannot be turned completely off when driving. Before you start the car put the key in the second position(lights on but not the engine), press and hold for 2-3 secs the esp button.

You have to “long press” or hold hold the button until a second message “esc off “pops up. To turn it all the way off, hold the button until the first message for the “sport” setting goes away and the second message pops up.

Same thought. Stripped they weigh around 1000 kg plus software maybe 170 hp. Not sure if that's enough to go that quick though but if semis then maybe yes?

Lol, that’s me in the Swift. It’s around 1000Kg, stripped with a Weichers cage, Pole Positions, Ohlins suspension, stage 1 Map @170bhp, 15” Dunlop Direzzas etc. I’ve done over 800 laps with it in the last two seasons.

@@Onraadyes, same car. I believe it was the video of the M3 with an M5 engine. I followed until my windscreen got covered in oil as it was leaking massively. When I put my wipers on I lost all vision. If you watch the video again he cuts it on the exit into Devils Diner, I stopped next to him to tell him about the fluid. The owner then says it’s the oil dry sump tank in the boot leaking 😮

Not at all soulless cars, drive one, incredible handling machines. The TC is to do with the spoiler being disabled, the car automatically enable TC with this mod. Keep the stock spoiler or recode the ECU properly and it works fine

@MrCaterhamr500 each to their own, the TT will never be a rear wheel drive car for sure, but this makes it more capable on the road. Also a Golf R isn't a good comparison to a TTS, this mistake is often made by lazy reviewers, the fact is few parts are shared and the TT is unique unlike the golf R and S3, the mk3 is sportier still and simply isn't comparable to others in the VAG range. Lap times tell the full story
