I’m in the middle of building a cab for my Power King tractor. Almost completed building the frame. Nice work you’re doing.

As my motor got older, the CO2 increased. I have a portable CO2 detector inside. Make sure you do enough air circulation. I started with small boat gas tank fans that didn’t do much. I made my door to come off by lifting hinge bolt and placed a window in it. That does t help much. Unsure of my next moves. Needed to rebuild mower gear box and shaft.

In the final stages of my cab built, now adding windows and electrical accessories. Will be completed before winter.

Yours is the NICEST job I've seen so far. Very well done! Running that trolling battery you MIGHT be able to put a 12v heater with fan as a defroster in there if needed.

Pretty cool. I've been thinking of doing something similar, but using pvc pipe.

Nice job dude! I made one and boy is the plexiglass expensive
@LGHNurse09115 жыл бұрын
Pete kovacevic thank you. I made patterns of each opening with cardboard. I took them to local glass shop, between their scraps fitting odd shapes and full sheets cost about 200.00. Back window is glass.

Nice job on the cab I to think the craftsman cab is junk have to ask the lexan is it all 1/4 inch and how well can you see through it any scratches on lexan and how is the cab holding up
@LGHNurse7 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Part 2 is also on KZbin as well. The only 1/4 inch is the front window. I do not wipe or scrape, so no scratches. The rear is glass and remaining is 1/8 inch. Some minor scratches in sides, but view is large enough, no issues. The cab did great over winter. Used Harbor Freights Hester in front window as well. Will be wiring joysticks for all automation for the winter.

Nice ! I like the full view of the operator! The only thing I would do is close off the corners both on the rear fenders and down on the foot plates just so you don’t get exhaust and wind in there . I think the engine will warm it up a little and when you blow during the day the sun will also . Nice 👍
@LGHNurse09115 жыл бұрын
Dave Kimbler , thanks Dave. I have enclosed front and inner cab from engine area to keep out exhaust. Despite doing that, the carbon monoxide levels are more then I would like, and purchased a small fan used in boats for fuel exhaust. This brings in fresh air to balance off exhaust.

LGHNurse0911 nice touch , a fan would work ! Auto zone has a 12 volt defroster that might have a fan on it , I’m going to check it out for mine ! Thanks for the heads up .

What kind of metal you using for the frame ??
@LGHNurse09114 жыл бұрын
I used 3/4 in square iron bar and flat iron. Over this summer I have grind down and retreated the cab with undercoating and rubber spray. I did not treat metal right initially and rust was taking over.

Kind of a stupid question and you probably don’t but do you still have the crappy soft cover? I can’t afford to build one because of all the COVID crap and nobody sells them anymore and Can’t pay a lot for one so if you don’t want it maybe I could buy it from you just to get me out of the wind until I can build a better one. I just picked up a used YS4500 so i think it’ll fit it.

Howdie just Question How do ya Open the hood ?And How do ya Fill it up How many Men to take cab Off Nice work but just thinkin Wood ya not hav Made the Roof out of Plastic Just sayin Basic,s thks again will ya let me Know And How much it cost ? If possible Thks again Farmer
@LGHNurse09115 жыл бұрын
521farmer , on the front of the cab, I have a piece of old boat window plastic. I used snaps, allowing an easy on/off to access under the hood. The entire cab is held on with 4 bolts. I removed it on 3 occasions. In my design, i roll it forward and off tractor. Two people are needed. Now I have a winch in my garage and can lift it off if needed. As far as cost, it would of been a great down payment on a real tractor.
@LGHNurse09115 жыл бұрын
521farmer, Sorry, my gas tank is underneath the back, it’s a 5 gallon tank. Added weight. The access is inside cab on door side.

Could have saved a bunch of $$$ by using 1/4 plywood/ paneling for anything below waist level on visibility screens

Larry E The front and rear window is 1/4 that I paid for, everything else was at the cost of 1/8 inch. The business had scraps of 1/4 inch. Thanks for watching.

And other then left corner of cab, all areas are vision spots.
