Used a Leyland 384 in 1973 and a Leyland 272 syncro in 1979. Very strong engines and the 272 was very speedy on the road.

Hearing that 904 working reminds me of the Leyland 270 my late father used to drive, there's a distinct sound to them. Nice video sir and Merry Christmas.

I have a synchro 262 and a 272 with a 5x2 box. Da bought them 2nd hand in early 80,s. They are still here working every day. More modern gear does the heavy work nowadays. The Leylands wont be sold as long as i,m here. Regards from Ireland 🇮🇪

It is a yellow Leyland ! Marshall never designed wheeled tractors, they just warmed over existing Leylands.

Not stirctly true, yes the 904XL was a tweaked 804 with a longer wheelbase and more output but the 100 Series were new, they carried over the Explorer cab and used the six cylinder Leyland 6/98 but otherwise were a very brave attempt at a new tractor, inlcuding electronic rear linkage - in 1984!
