The fleet of semi-trucks really shows the scale of the operation. It’s incredible how much coordination goes into getting the corn from the field to the canning factory.

Did you see Ambers farm service? Think she is there or not too far from you. Great video… man that bounce those harvesters make would be annoying to me. always love seeing how sweet corn is harvested.

Most likely this is some smaller farm. They have machines for this when they have thousands of acres to harvest. This is done on farms that grow less corn and makes no sense to purchase the machines

why cant you bale the stalks for cattle feed also, can you use this machine for field corn and then grind the corn with the cob for cattle feed

Yea muck ground, but it was also tiled recently so the field had a dip at every tile line. Was real slow going for them in that field.

It doesn't make sense to transfer it twice why don't they just pick into the tank being pulled by the tractor?

Can’t take the semi into the field or it’ll get stuck, and it doesn’t make sense to stop harvest to go dump. Every crop is done in a similar manner with grain carts.

This way the harvester can keep running while the tractor runs back to the truck to unload. Much quicker than sitting and waiting for the dump cart tractor to get back. It also helps when they are waiting on trucks the picker can still pick for a while before having to stop.
